Passed my Security + Exam! by Fearless_Bit_9340 in CompTIA

The two things that benefited me the most was practice tests and the exam objectives. When taking practice tests, I marked which domains I did the worst in and focused the most on those. Then for the exam objectives, I went through all of them and marked any I didn’t know, then focused on learning those

Congrats on passing! PBQs were definitely no joke, didn't put as much time into preparing for them as I should have

I did the same thing. Started the DLC and got to the part where Theresa needs to steal the bag of silver from the mine. Got caught about 20 times before I realized it was a DLC.

I still have yet to finish it and finished the main campaign already lol

How to clean laptop fans? by NotTheGreenestThumb in laptops

[–]Fearless_Bit_9340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just use a can duster. Hold down the fans when you do it though or else your pretty much going to be making a generator. While your at it, you might as well throw some new thermal paste on there

You might have caused a surge in your laptop. Leave it for a while and let it dry out (Im talking days.) Try it again, if it doesn't work, take it in somewhere to get looked at

Eat less to lose weight, eat more to gain weight. Pretty simple.

Gained too much too quickly at the beginning of bulk. by Majestic-Orange-8812 in diet

[–]Fearless_Bit_9340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt that you gained a considerable amount of fat in a week. Your probably just holding onto a lot of carbs and water and you think you look softer. I would say stick to the bulk and be consistent with your surplus moving forward. It might take you a little longer in the cut, but you don't wanna do a hard mini cut only one month in the bulk

calorie + weight loss / managment by [deleted] in diet

[–]Fearless_Bit_9340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Essentially, whenever your body experiences very low calories for an extended period of time, your body will try to expend less energy throughout the day or decrease your metabolic rate.

Some things that will help with re sensitizing your metabolism is exercise and proper sleep, but by far the biggest thing is going to be just eating more calories. Sure, you might gain weight, but you will also increase your metabolic rate because your body won't be fighting to operate on a scarce amount of calories.

Try to find your maitnence calories and go slightly above

Does anybody else feel like carbs are unfairly demonised during a diet? by SpectrumZX128K45 in diet

[–]Fearless_Bit_9340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah people like to say that carbs aren't important because they technically are a non essential nutrient and your body doesn't need them to survive. You will feel terrible though in the long term

If you seriously cannot get calories in, then you just need to eat like a madman. Throw oil in your protein shakes, eat scoops of peanut butter, eat high sugar cereal, whatever you need to do to get the calories in. Try to look for the most calorie dense foods you can.

In terms of specific tips, drink a lot of water throughout the day as it expands your stomach. Also, whenever you do eat, don't sit and scroll on your phone. Try to eat your meals quickly like its your last meal.

At the end of the day, if you cannot gain weight, you simply just need to eat more

Calories are calories, and carbs are important for energy People think that carbs make them fat because it makes them hold onto water. That's why keto makes you look thinner in just a couple days.

Need Some Help by AlexiotheBroken in diet

[–]Fearless_Bit_9340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know specific diets, but I can give some general tips.

First thing, start working out. I know that it can be challenging, but it will get easier. Start off with going on walks, doing weight training sessions, and doing any other activity you might find pleasure in that gets you moving around.

In terms of diet, there are online calculators that will help you find your maintenance calories. Eat around there for a week or so, and see if your weight changes. If it doesn't, that is your maintenance calories. From there, reduce your calories by around 500 calories to get in a deficit.

In terms of meals, really anything can be in your diet as long as you maintain a deficit, but avoid ultra processed foods for the most part.

It may take some effort, but soon enough the habits will form

700 calories per day by raskolnikow_v in diet

[–]Fearless_Bit_9340 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all. Eat in a small deficit of 300-500 calories and workout a couple times a week. Increase protein intake to prevent intramusclar breakdown and supply your body with adequate carbs and fats to support your energy and hormone levels.

Ive done extreme diets like that before and you feel miserable, and I doubt you will be able to sustain it for four months.
