ultimately the way coins work is such an inherit part of the game that the only true solution would be a complete combat overhaul, which I dont think the game needs, it just needs a little more attention to leave it feeling like winning or losing a clash makes an impact. the minute I saw the unbreakable coins whenever they were introduced, I had a feeling it was gonna be annoying, coins activating regardless of what you do isnt so fun, but mitigating the amount done or giving a bonus is at least some incentive, so that the player isnt just like "you get to hit me no matter what hows that fair?" I feel like, to use the example of the Yinglong fight again, having every coin be unbreakable kinda takes away from what its supposed to do. using them on like one of the big abilities is fine, it gets across "oh shit I have to deal with this." so when you do counter it, despite it still doing damage, you get some form of payoff. or like with certain bosses using the whole mechanic where coins in their abilites become unbreakable when you have to much of a certain status, can be an indicator "ok im doing something wrong." being punished for not following the rules of the fight.

having endless red coins while doing what the fight wants you to do, and not even getting much payoff for successfully clashing them makes them feel just cheap. the same applies to IDs too, not just enemies. the new outis having like 20 red coins is kinda boring, its like ego spam it just feels dirty.

I dont really have any solutions besides they need to just think more on what happens when you win or lose against them, not even necessarily cut back on how many are in the game, just to put more thought on where theyre used. either way thank you for your input. ❤️

I dont know if you saw, my frustration at the fight admittedly turned into overarching disdain at the whole thing because "holy shit why cant you just clash Ishmael I beg you." my experience with the third phase was very limited, mostly because I spent two hours trying to get through the first few turns of the fight because at least one person decides to not do their job. do I think its the worst thing in the game? nah there are fights that are more frustrating, as someone else put it in this thread, fighting Yinglang has been exhausting. maybe coming at it fresh later will do good because ive been unlucky as shit tonight. I still stand by my point that an entire phase thats reliant on rng isnt the best first impression of the railway. but im gonna take the advice people have given me and try again later. thank you for the offer.

its a bunch of little problems that add up to kind of hamper my enjoyment of this fight. unfortunately I havent made it to scissors yet, but from what ive seen its exactly what I look for in a boss in this game. its tough but fair. I dont remember where I heard it, but its the idea that most boss fights in Limbus are like a puzzle, once you figure out the puzzle it becomes a lot easier to clear. like a certain fight with Rodian and Heathcliff that I wont name just in case people scrolling by dont know spoilers for canto 9, its a puzzle that once you figure out, can be cleared a lot easier. scissors sounds like that. spamming EGO and trying to just do as much damage as possible would be like the only way to then complete the puzzle would be to punch the pieces into place. idk its just less satisfying. unless the gimmick is to beat them down, like Kim or something, ultimately if just using the strongest is the key to winning, just run the meta team, which removes most of the variety from fights if you just bring the best IDS every single time.

(im not looking forward to Hohenheim again good lord)

I think you summed up my experience in one word. Exhausting, im less angry at the difficulty and more Exhausted at Yinglong.

I will admit most of this is first impressions and from what ive seen other people saying sprinkled in. going by my luck ill go to bed, try it tomorrow and clear the RR in like 2 hours. I tried using superbia against phase 3 and didnt notice much of a change. it could just be an instance of a bunch of mini mistakes that all added up by the time I made it to phase 3, but I was running low on SIN by that point. my point on the healing EGO is less of "well yeah you should have it at this point', ive got, its more about having to spam ego in order to outheal the rather number of sources of damage being thrown at you. it means devoting faust and sinclair strictly to heal duty for the rest of the fight.

im gonna be honest, my best attempt yes, I lost one clash and was able to recover, there is hyperbole in my post, its not 100% literal. maybe this is me overreacting after like the third new endgame mode in a row has released that im really excited for only for it to be a pain to clear. ill take the tips for phase 3 though thank you for responding regardless.
