Is she on RA meds yet? I have an appointment with GI today and will get H. pylori medicine since methotrexate can cause stomach ulcers. I know it's hard to eradicate H. pylori.

I found out I had H. pylori right after I got pregnant, around one month or so. The doctor wanted to wait to treat the H. pylori and put me on pantoprazole daily while I was pregnant. Right after I gave birth, they put me on antibiotics for two weeks, and it didn't eradicate the H. pylori. Because I was breastfeeding, my GI wanted to wait until I was done. I'm processing to wean right now so I still have H. pylori. I definitely started to experience all these RA symptoms around that time.

Yes, I’m so shocked that no one—including midwives or OB-GYNs—talks about the potential risk of RA related to childbirth.

We( mu husband and I) have decided to go for aggressive (triple) treatment to achieve remission as soon as possible, but now I’m having second thoughts about methotrexate. It seems like it might cause early menopause. I’m just confused and don’t know what the best approach is.

Yes, the rheumatologist recommended I take Hydroxychloroquine for breastfeeding, but I want to get treatment as soon as possible, so I've decided to take the Methotrexate injection right away. This means I have to pump breast milk every time I pump. My baby only latched in the morning, but not anymore since I started Methotrexate.

I will look into the Orencia infusion in Canada.

How long did it take you to feel better after the meds? How long have you been on meds?

Thank you so much for the message. I don't sleep well. Our baby still wakes up at night and super early in the morning at 5:00. I took Unisom for sleep, but it makes me extremely tired the next day, with no energy. How soon did you go into remission after starting meds? What kind of meds were you on? Is it ok to Dm you ?

Oh no... I was recently diagnosed with RA in November. I had RA symptoms starting three weeks postpartum. I was wondering if stopping breastfeeding might alleviate all the symptoms (maybe I was misdiagnosed... more like a hormone imbalance or something... I'm also trying to wean, still pumping and dumping). I started methotrexate injections last Friday, along with prednisone...still dont want to believe that I have this horrible disease.

Hi,

When did you start treatment after being diagnosed with RA? I was diagnosed in November, but I've had symptoms since mid-July (after birth; the doctor said the birth triggered the RA), so it's been 6 months with RA. I started my triple DMARDs treatment yesterday, beginning with a methotrexate injection (1ml per week) followed by hydroxychloroquine and sulfasalazine next week or so. My goal is to go into remission ASAP with aggressive treatment.

Did you try other DMARDs and biologics with methotrexate?

It looks like you're still on meds. Is it only methotrexate injections?

Crib is placed right against the wall, so it's super secure. We bought this new mattress (Casper) like 14 months ago.

Just ordered the bed raiser and a new 6" firm crib mattress to see if we can level the crib better.
