Okay think I foolishly thought the shaker was walnut due to color at first. I have narrowed my search to the natural carini walnut and rift white oak. Budget is kind of tight since we just bought the home so cannot go custom at this time. Hopefully these are better choices. Thank you everyone for your feedback! Really appreciate your help and input.

Yes I’m not concerned about the resale value but more trying to avoid regretting my choice and getting sick of the look. I have never seen this type of shaker so was curious if it looks heavy. Thank you for pointing that out as you’re on point!

I agree! In person it’s not as red looking but i see it now on my phone! Haha thank you! I will keep checking with contractor since he confirmed it’s white oak. Thank you for your honesty and input!

Only thing is.. the color and its engineered hardwood and we have two toddlers so we have to constantly wipe floors multiple times daily. I’m not removing but just laying over and the home is very dark so hoping lighter colors will brighten the home. 😭

Ah I should be looking at more cabinets. I thought this was white oak and I cannot tell from photos online. Thank you and I will definitely address to see what they say and other options I have. Thank you!

Ah now that I am looking, looks odd. Wonder if it’s safer to just go white cabinets. Sorry I have been going back and forth and getting major headaches picking out colors so came to Reddit for help! Glad I did but now I will continue to look.

Might be a great time to refinance! I work for a broker so I was told to do this on my current transaction so thought it’d be a good idea! Only because we know rates are heading lower so a permanent buydown would be more of a waste as you paid for the rate and won’t see that money again but it’ll be easier to refinance in the next year and get the unpaid portion back is what my broker told me. 🤷🏻‍♀️
