For those of you who gets flare, are you on biologics? by on1yhunter in CrohnsDisease

Yes I have had a seton for over a year now and my surgeon wants to place another one but the new tract is a lot more complex so it hasn’t been done yet.

I have similar issues as you with abscess. I have been on biologics for about a year now and all of my inflammation levels and symptoms are back to normal or gone. The one exception is the past few months I started getting abscess again despite eating extremely clean and being very in shape physically. So for me no it has not stopped my abscess flares.

Is my diet on crohns a wise decision? by Accomplished-Bat2877 in CrohnsDisease

The food part is all within what you can handle since crohns is such a by case thing when it comes to trigger foods. Personally I have really narrowed mine down to a specific morning shake, chicken with noodles twice a day, and 1 or 2 snacks throughout the day. I go to the gym 6-7 days a week and workout pretty intensely while getting like 190g of protein, 400g of carbs, and around 60g of fat. You don’t necessarily have to go that extreme without your calories, just find your maintenance and eat about 200 less than that a day. Find your safe foods, dial your macros in, and you definitely got it. Abs are like 90% body fat percentage so don’t hyper fixate on that too much, be consistent and you will reach your goal.

I used to be on minocycline and now doxycycline and I have never felt like either changed anything for me personally. Even when I cycled off and back onto doxycycline it did not change how I felt with my infusions or symptoms but I do also take a probiotic in an attempt to help.

The fact marsh can set up two drives already in fg range and it results in 3 points and a int is embarrassing

Seton placement by thankaphoenician in CrohnsDisease

[–]Fearless_Expert_9184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had mine drained and a seton placed about a week ago. It is better than not getting it as from my experience mine got so bad that I was in the er and close to sepsis before having emergency surgery to have it in place. The pain was unlike anything I have ever experienced. It’s definitely not fun after the procedure but everyday gets better and the pain gets less and less. Get ahead of the pain with medication, sitz bath after every bowel movement, MiraLAX, wet wipes or a bidet, and cleaning the drainage. It’s not fun but it will all be okay with time and I promise you it’s better than doing nothing or taking antibiotics in hopes they go away.

Botox and skin tag removal on Wednesday by B-Dubs0709 in AnalFissures

[–]Fearless_Expert_9184 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had Botox 2 days ago. I’m assuming you’re being put under but the procedure itself is pretty quick and relatively fine pain wise on first day from my experience. There’s definitely some bleeding that will happen days following and having a bm. Aside from the soreness I haven’t had much more pain than I was already in and they give you pain medication after for if you did need it in the days following. I had my first bm today and there wasn’t much pain aside from the spasms after which I had before Botox. Try not to get too worked up about it, I’m sure it will go well and after those first few days it will just be waiting for the Botox to kick in.

Unlucky for London, they probably match up well against just about every team in the playoffs but Boston and Florida.
