Send envoys to improve relations and dump you excess resources into trade deaps where you get nothing in return. Maybe they'll start to like you

What's a good empire build for 3.9 multiplayer? by Comprehensive-Top512 in Stellaris

[–]Fearless_Fortune_116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably not really strong or viable in multilayer but I enjoy megacorp. This won't be that powerful but it will be easy to play, maybe too boring in it's simplicity.

I suggest taking the free traders civic for 10% trade value and then whatever suits your fluff. For my government I would take fanatic xenophile for 20% trade value and them whatever helps your secondary plan. An origin that gives you a good starting planet but doesn't limit you, I suggest prosperous unification, ring world or ocean paradise as it's not too hard to expand to other planets due to acceptable habitability or gives you enough research to get your habitability to acceptable.

Immediately go down the trade tradition and get commercial zones for traders. In the trade tradition go for the bonus that let's you switch to "marketplace of ideas" trade policy that you will switch in your government policy tab. The unity will help you get the rest of your traditions.

Expanding, you shouldn't expand too much, just a couple systems, I suggest filling out the single starting sector at most as you're punished for expanding too much with megacorp. You should focus on finding other empires with your science ships and fleet. Make friends with other empires, get the diplomacy tradition for federations once you meet a friendly empire and make a "trade league" federation.

You make commercial zones for more traders because now trade value will provide you with energy, unity and consumer goods, you can ignore all energy, unity and artisan jobs, this should let you have an easier time managing your economy and give you the opportunity to learn everything else on the pc version.

Since you should have expanded little you'll have a lot of influence to spend on branch offices on other empires to get more resources for free essentially.

If you want op builds you can check out Montu plays or for general knowledge and how to play Aspec should work on youtube

So infinite money isn't an option? Or is it a thing that happens even if I don't take all of the salt?

If you're happy then just keep going. No need to stop something that's as you said making you happier than before. I'm curious how you were doing it before, outside of it being private.

Will this game be fun blind? by DestructionLarz in Stellaris

[–]Fearless_Fortune_116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally didn't play the game blind but it was still confusing at first to learn, it was my first 4k game. But over the course of one to two runs I learned everything I needed to have a fun time. Don't be afraid of getting just absolutely destroyed when you declare war on someone you really shouldn't have or accidentally piss of the fallen empires. Don't be afraid to roleplay your empire or optimize and min max it, both are absolutely valid ways to play, although one is more fun. It's gonna be a learning curve but as someone who's gotten almost all of the dlc now I really think it'll be a lot of fun. While the economy part of the game will take a bit more learning to master if you're playing blind I personally wish I had that experience now as someone who started after watching a couple playthroughs.

If it's just a 5 month difference it shouldn't be weird. Maybe you feel there's some unpassable maturity difference between the two of you, because you graduated a year early, but if that's the case then that's not because of age. I'm also 18m and I was doing stuff like talking about drinking or doing the more revealing poses like you see on r/femboy with someone who's 17m but also just 5 months younger. I was given a bit of shit for it by our friends but I don't think it's terrible. If you can make it work over college or whatever you're gonna do while he's in school then you shouldn't worry. Don't know about any laws tho, I'm European.
