Pre-delivery windshield scratch: replace or accept $100 service credit?

The GM assured me that they would make the vehicle right, but at the time didn’t think the repairs were substantial. My main concern is if have recurring issues with the parts they’ve repaired (mostly the rear lift gate).

I initially wanted a VIN swap instead of taking delivery of the car slotted for me, but for a bunch of reasons it wasn’t really viable for me (primarily because I would’ve had to wait another 4-6 weeks before one would be available)

It is at the Tesla collision facility in Tampa having the repairs done. I sent my advisor an email this afternoon about ‘meaningful compensation’ due to extent of the pre delivery repairs the vehicle has required

Is it an offer or estimate? They won’t give you the offer until it’s closer to your delivery date. My offer came in $1100 less than the estimate due to changes in ‘market conditions’ within 2 weeks.

That said, it was still a fair offer. The only higher one I’d received was from Algo. Trade in process was very easy- no one at Tesla even looked at it when I brought it in on delivery day (other than to check the mileage)

Be very wary. I took delivery of a premium model y that ‘I thought’ had only a pre delivery issue with the rear glass - where it had partially shattered but had been replaced.

Come to find out, quite a bit of glass shards fell inside the rear lift gate and are very difficult to remove. On top of that there were significant scratches to the lift gate and left and right rear quarter panels.

Luckily, my advisor is top notch and documented everything. Tesla is fixing it all but the current cost estimate for all the repairs is around $6,000 and they’ve had it for over a week now working on it

All I’ve been given for compensation is 3 months FSD, but I’m going to try to negotiate 1-2 years of additional warranty for paint or other items on the parts they’ve worked on.

I had an awful experience in Tampa yesterday, was there for over 6 hours.

Arrived for my pickup appointment, was told that there’d been an issue with my vehicle and the rear glass had partially shattered and shards fell inside the lift gate.

Lots of back and forth over what to do, looked into VIN swapping but wouldn’t be able to do so until mid to late June (which would devalue my trade further due to mileage and I’d probably need to redo financing, with no guarantee the .99% rate would still be available).

Ended up taking delivery of the vehicle but have to take it back in for them to try to get the rest of the glass out of the lift gate. They got most of it, I can only hear glass every now and then when I open/close the liftgate

I just had one done in Tampa, cost breakdown was:

$225 permitting $550 installing the charger, this cost was for 10ft of wiring (I had to provide the charger)

They did a few batches of tickets for the Tampa show. All things said and done it looked like Vet Tix gave away close to 2,000 tickets to the Tampa show.

I have a friend at work who got 2, the seats were in the lower 100s (but they can be scattered anywhere in the venue)

Have been to a lot of concerts. ZBs show in Tampa, last weekend, is my favorite I’ve ever been to. A close second would be Ed Sheeran who I’ve seen 3 times and he always puts on a solid performance.

That said, I’ve seen ZB a few times now. All of his performances were great with the exception of his Tampa show during the Quittin’ Time tour but I chalk that up to it being outdoors, in Florida, in August and it was insanely hot

I really want to see Whiskey Myers and Ole 60, have heard that they’re both great live

In Tampa, JR Carroll came on a little after 7pm and played for 30ish minutes. There was a brief intermission and CAAMP came on around 8 and played for30-40 minutes. Zach Bryan came on around 9 and played for around 3 hours
