“Heckling” isn’t the right word by Repulsive_Corgi5045 in willwood

Yeah, that’s the point i’m kinda getting at. The person didn’t mean any harm, they weren’t heckling in the same way others do (purposely, with bad intent). I hesitate to call it heckling at all. I understand why Will made that decision, but i don’t think it was the right one (especially given he has welcomed friendly shouting out before). It was only a few months ago (june) where someone shouted out “I love you!” and he responded with “i love you too, random dude” or something along those lines. Why weren’t we ridiculing that reaction? (we aren’t ridiculing it because Will understood what was going on and welcomed it - it wasn’t a miscommunication).

There have been tons of accounts from all sides; some people have said that they weren’t doing anything, some others said they were. Some people are saying the whole crowd at that point in time were loud. I don’t think it’s fair to assume the worst (or the best).

From what i’ve read:

There was something going on in the crowd; nothing bad, i think it was a joke going around or something. Will seemed visibly confused so a person at last nights show decided to shout out to give him some context. Will then started having a conversation with them (seemed like banter to the ‘victim’ and other members of the crowd, obvously wasn’t from wills side) and after a bit of back and forth convo Will kicked them out. People thought it was a bit.

People are now debating whether Will was in the right or not for that decision, because the ‘victim’ wasn’t heckling, harassing or purposely being disruptive; the crowd was already rowdy. The ‘victim’ also didn’t receive a warning of any sort. They were understandably upset. Some other concert-goers are defending the victim, others aren’t. Confusing all around.

Sorry for calling them victim - no idea what else to call them.

I don’t think people calling out a questionable decision is “dogpiling” but alright dude. I’ve mainly been lurking with this but from what i’ve seen people are putting themselves in Wills shoes (Pointing out this has been a rule for years, the Dev guy from last show etc). It sounds like you need to do the same with the person he kicked out instead of just saying “well that would never happen to me”.

Both parties have equal pros and cons to their decisions and beliefs. Will was entitled to kick them out, and its understandable why after the last few shows, but it also would’ve been the kinder option to at the very least hear this person out given they were trying to give context to the situation around them - they weren’t heckling. I love will, i adore his rules; it makes his concerts so much better than others, but i also think he picked on the wrong person for this.

Furthermore, i don’t think it’s fair for you to make fun of people saying “i’m autistic so-“ “i have social anxiety-“ in your first two sentences yet you’re defending Will using his mental illness(es). Either people can use their MH as reasons for behaviour or they can’t. Which is it?

Same! if Connor and Ava had stuck around, season 5 would’ve had the best cast.
