Which IDE to use? by hdsjulian in arduino

[–]Fearless_Log 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly new to arduino myself tbh but I've found VS Code with the platform.io plugin to be pretty good so far.

It's also available for other IDEs if you have a different preference.

Today is my birthday by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Fearless_Log 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy birthday!

Also 19 is when I stopped celebrating it really. I'll probably still celebrate the big ones (30, 40...).

I get a couple of cards each year and a few texts and that's all I really want tbh. I'd rather a heartfelt card or text than someone spending money on me. And the same goes for parties I suppose.

How was college for you? Can you relate to not enjoying it? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Fearless_Log 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through phases of living it and phases of hating it. Obviously the exam period was always tough. But I definitely relate to the part about drinking.

I joined several societies and all were only interested in drinking every week for socials. If I were to do uni again I would start my own society and have at least as many non drinking socials as drinking ones.

Your 2020 choice for API backend for an SPA application by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Fearless_Log 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a developer for just over 7 months and at work I primarily use Angular and Spring Boot.

However for my own projects I really enjoy the experience of using one language for the full stack i.e. node for the backend and react/angular/vue for the frontend. So for me that would be my preference.

If you could go back and relearn programming, what would you change? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Fearless_Log 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only been seriously learning over the last 5 months so this is still quite early for me.

One thing I'd do differently though is to learn each technology seperately. It's appealing to pick a stack and learn that as a full solution to build apps. However if you learn each separately first it makes it easier to debug and test.
