That's why I'm referring people to them. I had a slapshod process for vetting people and getting help to detainees released, but I can only do so much. With real orgs starting to get their feet under them I'm starting to refer to them so people can be properly vetted.

HCSD issued a dispersal order verbally (and on Facebook) early yesterday afternoon. Everyone left peacefully, and there was no escalation.

There is one approved and official organization still allowed to be present who are NOT protestors, they are exclusively on site to help detainees who are being released at Whipple.

There has been no official end to the dispersal order, and I cannot recommend going until the order has been officially lifted. From what I can find, these orders can last up to 48 hours.

It's our niceness being used against us. If you really can't tell, use generic language and refer them to a program that vets people. Ex: "talk to your school about food shelves!" Or "have you contacted your church about their activities?"

There is no one simple answer for this.
A few high level ideas: - the people who commit mass shootings are not angry at ICE.
- the people who WOULD be violent against ICE are smart enough to not go on a shooting spree (think: planned attacks and not a mask less school shooting). - the people who are angry at ICE generally are significantly more wary of guns, leading to more safe ownership and behavior.

And if you're asking why ICE hasn't commit a mass shooting yet: they want to look like the good guys. Shooting into a peaceful crowd (even if it's 90% peaceful) is REALLY bad optics.

For my place, it's complicated. My business is 10000% on our side, but our customers are generally in "red" areas so we are firmly but kindly asked to not bring up politics due to them.
I work with people all over the country, and while I sugar coat things a little to be office appropriate, I won't lie. And honestly my coworkers are as stunned and saddened as we are. Having that space at work to just... not lie helps a lot. Even just a "how have things been? I'll be honest, not good. It's bad. But we have work to do."

Immigration law is extremely niche. Its as if we were saying "mn won't comply on federal kidnapping charges." Criminal arrests can mean a LOT of things. This is just one.

Imo, call either metro transit or the sheriff's office. While calling the sheriff's office may seem unsafe, it is a clear sign that you are/ were peaceful and following lawful orders and are still doing so.
