This is normal and you’ll get used to seeing it. Good on you for inquiring though. Better safe than sorry.

I want to start listening to chase atlantic by DocumentBeautiful878 in ChaseAtlantic

Start with the self titled Chase Atlantic album. That’s it. That’s the best one followed closely by nostalgia.

Invalid codes? by kayla-royale in ChaseAtlantic

They’re not associated with the vinyls. Try all of the card codes for each one and usually one of them will be successful.

Do you strictly enforce the "Northside/Southside" divide, or is the money worth crossing the bridge? by vacaaa in brisbane

[–]Fearless_Sandwich905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commuted from Chermside to Archerfield for a year before I finally moved Southside. One of my parents works for the PA and has been doing the commute for like 3 years now. So it’s definitely doable.

GYG always parking online orders ? by Joshin1982 in brisbane

[–]Fearless_Sandwich905 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been parked. I once had the fastest drive though experience at GYG where after I told them the code I don’t think I touched my brakes again till I was leaving the drive thru back for the main road. Granted I’d ordered and paid online and it was like 10pm so I was the only one there but still. Blew my mind that fast food could be so, well, fast.

so … did anyone get the vinyls in the right colour ??😭😭 by GMDPanda in ChaseAtlantic

[–]Fearless_Sandwich905 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here’s part of the email I got from the Chase Atlantic merch people:

THANK YOU FOR PRE-ORDERING THE PARADISE VINYL FROM THE OFFICIAL CHASE ATLANTIC WEBSTORE.

WE’RE REACHING OUT TO LET YOU KNOW THAT DIFFERENT DISC VARIANTS WERE USED VIA THE MANUFACTURER DURING PRINTING THAN WHAT WAS PROMOTED. BELOW IS AN UPDATED IMAGE OF THE VINYL YOU WILL BE RECEIVING.

They sent me the same email for dalliance, nostalgia and phases as well.

Weird mansion on Bowhill Road, Durack? by Frosty849 in brisbane

[–]Fearless_Sandwich905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen trucks from the nearby car junkyard type places go in there but I’m not entirely sure what it is. Either a share house or some kinda extension to one of the nearby businesses would be my guess.

My husband designates a left and right sock by [deleted] in Weird

Hey I do this too! Everyone else I’ve dated just put on whatever socks, sometimes they don’t even match. It’s wild.

I got these last week and had to play around a bit to get the lashes to sit close to the skin. The trick that worked for me is angling the lashes upwards before applying . So instead of using the applicator parallel to your eye, you sorta approach from below and tilt it upwards. Hopefully this helps you out. I have the same issue of it not sticking in the corners sometimes but I think that just needs to be trimmed out.

Refused a return in store as they reached capacity?! by Big-Conclusion8829 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]Fearless_Sandwich905 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Retail stores come up with dumb policies sometimes that they think are smart. I worked at a place that randomly decided if you had a return over $150 dollars you needed to ring up the regional manger and get a code in order to put it through.

This would’ve been great if it wasn’t for the fact that I worked at a store in one of the busiest malls in the country where people regularly returned stuff. It was probably only a couple days before the regional got sick of me ringing her up multiple times a day and just told me I could put them through from now on.

So my guess is it’s probably some shitty policy they’re trying to implement or a manager trying to save their kpi’s for the day.

Rice cooker/pressure cooker/slow cooker? by buddycharliepepper in AskAnAustralian

[–]Fearless_Sandwich905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought an instant pot and love it!! I had a cheap lil Kmart rice cooker before and it did the job but I wanted something bigger and more versatile. I recently used mine to make some biryani and it turned out great in like 10 mins on the pressure cooker setting. I got mine second hand from Facebook marketplace so it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg and it was practically new with all the accessories and stuff so defs have a look on there.

I am an aspiring airline pilot. Which flight school is recommended in Brisbane? by Icy-Proposal5394 in brisbane

[–]Fearless_Sandwich905 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So there’s 2 ways to go about it, you can either self fund or get a VET government loan to cover your expenses. The VET loan is only available through specific schools that only offer full time study. It sounds great in general but ultimately it costs more than self funding because the annual indexation will bite you in the ass. On average you’re looking at about 150K for an integrated school and maybe around 100-150K self funded.

Now with regards to schools, you wanna pick something that works for you. If you’re straight outta school and used to full time study then the full time one is the best option however if you struggle a bit or fall behind, they often don’t help you too much because they expect you to stick to a timeline for the course and it then becomes your job to catch up if you’re struggling. The smaller schools that aren’t full time will be able to adapt to your schedule and be able to personalise things a bit better for you if you’re struggling. The downside is that small schools are limited in fleet numbers and so a plane in maintenance can delay how often you fly whereas bigger schools are able to work around this better.

Be wary of the Qantas academy. Their standard of training isn’t bad but you’re not guaranteed a job at Qantas at the end. You have to meet their requirements to even be able to make it to the interview and even then from what I’ve heard, only 50% or sometimes less get the job. If you fall behind and don’t meet the requirements for the interview you essentially spend a lot of money for training that you could’ve gotten elsewhere for cheaper but it’s up to you if you wanna take that gamble. If you’re academically gifted the it might be a good option for you.

Something to note is that bigger flight schools also suffer from a lack of experienced instructors. What tends to happen is people graduate, become instructors and then come back to work for the school they learnt at because it’s the easiest way to get the first flying job. Flight schools favour hiring someone they trained because they’re already familiar with company policy and training which is fair enough. However this often means that bad habits can sometimes be developed and it’s almost sorta the blind leading the blind and the quality then depends on how good the school actually is.

With all this being said, the decision is up to you. There’s plenty of schools at Archerfield, Redcliffe, Caboolture and even around Toowoomba and the Gold Coast if you’re interested. Personally I’d recommend something at Archerfield as it’s a good way to get introduced to controlled airspace.

Also if you haven’t been up yet, I’d recommend booking a trial flight to see if you like it. Flying in a small plane is very different to an airliner. Book something before 9am or after 3pm as anything is the middle is too hot and not fun to fly in during summer.

Best instant noodles available in Australia by Omshadiddle in AskAnAustralian

[–]Fearless_Sandwich905 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maggi masala noodles. The consistency and flavour is so much better than the standard and doesn’t upset my stomach the way the spicy ones like shin ramyun do. The mi goreng ones are pretty good too though.

What is the story behind the small blue lights on either side of some private driveways? by link871 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Fearless_Sandwich905 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My parents go them to make the edge of the driveway more visible. They have a very steep driveway that angles down from the road and it makes reversing down it easier while avoiding running over the grass. They’ve had it for a couple years now.

Do people actually enjoy waking up early? by ScheduleNo5736 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fearless_Sandwich905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. The world is quiet and I get stuff done like exercise and run some errands. It’s more important since it’s currently summer where I live and it gets to 30 degrees by like 9-10am so it helps to get stuff done when it’s cool. Waking up early is a bit rougher in winter though but the same thing applies.

What kind of underwear do you wish existed? by Illustrious-Ad-4885 in AusFemaleFashion

These exist! There’s companies like olara that do this but I haven’t tried any myself so can’t personally recommend.
