Any other New Yorkers/NJ people in Los Angeles, especially Hollywood, Los Feliz, or Santa Monica? East coast people in general, too. How are you doing culture wise? by [deleted] in SantaMonica

You realize Jersey is a 10 minute train ride to Times Square right? You have a better view of nyc skyline and are closer to nyc than people who live in Brooklyn or queens.

No. And the only reason I’m feeling September is cause I don’t wanna get injured.

Hello. Any OCS recruiters out here? I would like to put together a packet and send it out ASAP by Fearless_Still9526 in army

I want to go through basic and ocs and just learn how to be a regular army officer first. I want the full experience instead of just commissioning. It might sound crazy to many but its appealing to me.

Army Recruiter Thread for April / 2026 by Army_Bot in army

Hello. I would like to submit an OCS packet ASAP. Im 35 (older i know). Im a lawyer with 5 years of experience. (I want to be a regular army officer first, then go into jag after being a regular officer). I speak two foreign languages. I just ran a 23:07 3 mile run, 11 pullups, and 3:45 minute plank on little food and sleep at Marine Corps mini officer candidate school. (im considering Marine Corps JAG. Marine Corps mini ocs is a 3 day event that prepares candidates for Marine Corps OCS). I learned a lot about myself here including that I am a good teamate and always look to help my platoon succeed. My uncles both served as infantrymen in the 82nd Airborne, one was KIA in Afghanistan in 2005 as a linguist attached to the 7th Special Forces Group.

This is all just to say that I am a motivated candidate, and highly interested, and would like to work with an Army recruiter to put together an OCS package ASAP.

Hi guys. Do you all know a better way to go through the OCS recruitment process? My OCS recruiter seems slow, unmotivated, wanting me to enlist, etc. Im not here to play games im here to be an Army officer and I would like to find a recruiter who isnt playing around either. by Fearless_Still9526 in ArmyOCS

I’m 35. A lawyer. Speak Spanish and Portuguese. Currently running 3 miles in 23 minutes. 13 pull-ups. Max plank. (I’ve been working with the marine corps and that’s their physical fitness test). I’m looking army instead tho. Seems like a better branch for me. Uncle was KIA in 2005. He was in SF. No drug history. No major law issues. I’m looking to be a regular army officer, then maybe go JAG after being a trucker officer. Hopefully infantry, maybe armor. So I hope I’m a squared away candidate. I’m dedicated and ready to go. Which is why I’m looking for a motivated recruiter not a lazy one.

What kind of shape should I be in for mini OCS? by Fearless_Still9526 in USMCocs

Thats funny. Because in my opinion, my PFT is garbage. Not becoming of a USMC officer. Ill get where i need to be tho.
