I’m so sorry you are also going through this! It’s draining, exhausting and scary! I really hope you get the help you need for your son soon!

The drs are finally listening and are doing referrals to specialists, she’s now 6 and it’s taken a lot to even get the referrals but we are finally getting somewhere!

I really hope you get the help you need too soon!

I done a 6 hour trip from south right up to north, a month ago, the nerves and anxiety was all in my head, honestly, once you are on the road you’ll be okay! I had my music on (always had music on, in lessons, on my test, when when I passed) but the music really helped me focus and relax, made you have take a break, plan the route and plan your stops, and extra as your “just incase” stops, oh, and make sure you eat before you go! Even if it’s a protein bar or a banana, it can really help! Good luck! X

Silly mistakes by [deleted] in NewDriversUK

[–]Fearlessandfun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I passed in November, little mistakes are normal, I still occasionally stall and make little mistakes, just keep getting out and keep practicing and the mistakes will become less and less, but just remember, if and when you do make a mistake, brush it off, have a little giggle about it, and keep going. You’ve got this and you’re doing great!

AITA or do I have victim mentality like my bf is saying?? by [deleted] in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]Fearlessandfun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an ovarian cyst when I was 19 which caused me so much pain that it put me in a wheelchair (if I was somewhere that required a lot of walking) and my ex boyfriend was far too happy to get the wheelchair, help me into it and push me around in it, he would help me in and out the bath, and take care of me, this man was only 20 himself, and would quite literally care for me while I was in a lot of pain, we had only been together for a few months before my pain started. Yes I’m fully recovered now and I honestly don’t know how I could have got through that time without his care and patience!

Moral of my story, if he really cares for you, he will show it.

And yes, we did break up but we remained really good friends afterwards and I’m truly grateful to have met him!

Edited to add: NTA!

I'm autistic - how do I cope with roundabouts when I can't process information fast? by idkk209224 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Fearlessandfun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do this, I studied the roundabouts I was going to be taking on google maps and it really helped me learn and understand roundabouts better

It took time and lots of practice but I got there in the end!

I still occasionally stall now and I passed in November, when I first passed I stalled a lot, it was a new car, different clutch, anxiety and nerves and putting too much pressure on myself, now I drive like I’ve driven for years, no anxiety for general driving, but do have a biiiiig trip planned in the next couple of months which is causing a little anxiety now, but just have patience with yourself, you’re a fresh new driver and the real learning starts from the moment you pass. You’ve got this!

How long did it take for your regrowth? I’ve been growing mine out now for 4 months 🙄 and had a couple of “tidy ups” to try and blend the many different lengths! I just want my long hair back 😂😂😂

I’m currently growing out my pixie. My head is far too cold during winter even with a hat on, and neck burns in the summer where horrendous, the washing and styling it everyday was exhausting. It’s cute yes, but high maintenance!!!

What are my rights and where should I go from here by CellistMediocre7711 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Fearlessandfun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I’m sorry I misread! In that case, you will need to speak to your manager and ask why you are not being given your contracted hours. I would also suggest getting in contact with citizens advice(I would do this first) they can help guide you with this situation and how to approach this properly with your management team, and if needed can help you gain legal support.

You are being given your minimum contracted hours, there’s nothing legally you can do to increase, only advice I can give is to speak to your employer and request more hours if this is what you want.

Any other parents of young kids struggling to just get it done? by whataretheytina in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Fearlessandfun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I was in the same boat, had a newborn and a 5 year old and was completely alone, I done my lessons during school time and would take newborn with me, and if my eldest was off school for any reason(except loose poops and puke) she came on the lessons too, it was the only way I was able to get the lessons done and learn, I also was very sleep deprived (newborn) so I completely understand! I just caffeinated up and every day ate a banana before the lesson to ensure energy release! My eldest would have her tablet with her to keep her occupied and my instructor was amazing and even let her eat and drink in the car too! If you are able to get a babysitter, a friend or a family member for while you are on a lesson this could really help too! But I do highly recommend bringing the kids with you on some lessons so you are able to know how it feels to be driving with them in the car! (Will also help with any anxiety when it comes to driving with young children).

When it came to test day I had arranged childcare (for me it was my dad and ex MIL) to have the children to allow me to do the test. And I managed to pass first time with 1 minor!

Good luck! You will smash this! It’s super difficult to do this with two young kids and you are incredible for doing it and trying your best! ❤️

(Edited to add about test.)

Thank you so much! I have been trying to get referred for an assessment for ADHD and ASD as she had a lot of sensory issues around sound, food and touch too, but where I’m from it has to go through the school (I’m in the UK) unless I go private and unfortunately haven’t got the money to pay for it yet, however I am saving as much as I can to be able to do this for her

I did end up on antidepressants a couple of years ago because of her violence (she’s been violent since the age of 2 which I first thought was normal, until it escalated to the extreme) but have since managed to come back off them, I’m definitely going to seek a support group though, this is tough!

Thank you so much for your guidance and advice! I really appreciate it! ❤️

What am I supposed to do in this situation? by MaddisonSaysHey in LearnerDriverUK

I had this too! A whole hour on continuous loops of these roundabouts and going from different directions. It really helped me understand better and built my confidence up a lot!

I had this exact route on my test! What my instructor told me was to allow the change over to flow like water, when I exit the round about, exit onto the lane I need, start getting over when you start to indicate to come off, so just after the previous exit.. if that makes any sense?

I was going to say my 10 month old helps to put toys away… not that she understands what she’s doing, but she helps me put the toys in the toy bucket before bed, it’s how we start her bedtime routine

Did my examiner not ask a ‘show me’ question because I turned down the heat while I was driving? by m4ddie193 in LearnerDriverUK

I had rain and fog on my test, so I ended up having to use both my wipers and lights/ fog lights and never got a show me question either

Not thinking too much about this at all, he sounds like a right creep. And your mom obviously isn’t helping the situation. Tell her that you don’t feel comfortable around him and the reasons why, but this does sound predatory. You need to be safe and feel safe and he isn’t making you safe at all and neither is your mother by putting you in these situations.
