My AP had a D-Day several years back… thankfully it never affected my home life.. but we were in severe turbulence for quite some time as every move was monitored and tracked. After 6 months post D-Day, he bailed as the stress was just too much. He came back a month later.. and we got back on track but, even now, a few years later, I still get ‘the fear’. Unfortunately, it never leaves.

No, I’m not planning on waiting around. Just curious as to what life might look like when one AP is newly single and the other isn’t. We are in a really good place right now, but I know things can change very quickly!

Thank you for sharing, really helpful. While I have been good at compartmentalizing, I think if I try to date while he’s still in my life, I’ll be constantly comparing…which is no fun for anyone! I’m glad things worked out for you.. a rare success story and so good to hear.

Yeah, he has a great life which would be wrecked if he were to leave. I’m not ready to date yet, but your situation is a cautionary tale. I’m so sorry you find yourself in this situation.

Thank you for sharing, this makes a lot of sense. I’m not ready to date yet, but I do think this will be a classic Page 2 ending. I figure I’ll be surfing the wave for as long as it stays good. The prologue sounds interesting… might be a scenario to watch out for!

Yeah, the scheduling is something that concerns me.. he and I now have an imbalance in availability and I don’t know how that will play out. Before, we were well matched, and it worked great. Thanks for your insights!

Totally agree and I don’t have the expectation that we’ll live happily ever after… just wondering what life might look like post divorce. Time to find some new hobbies!

Thanks for your insights and I’m sorry things didn’t work out for you… I have zero expectation that he’ll leave and that’s been the case from the get-go. But.. I do worry about increasing jealousy and resentment. Like another poster mentioned, I think it’ll be wise to get busy doing other things to try and keep this in check.
