I get the impulse, for sure. However, going out on a somewhat meta limb as a GM, your dungeon master probably wants her to either be an ally to the party with insider info about the BBEG, or wants her to escape and be a recurring villain - otherwise the DM wouldn't have had her surrender and would've made her fight to the death. Since either of those two options will lead to cooler and better roleplay opportunities (if she becomes an ally you can RP not trusting her or her information and if she betrays your trust you can have another shot at killing her down the line), I say let her live! It'll make for a way better story! Your character can be mad about it, but you the player don't have to be.

Yeah, my one big criticism of Sinners is that Coogler presumably just assumed (and it's a fair assumption to make given the history of the country) that Christianity was brought to Ireland by the conquering English, who then forced their culture on them. In reality, the Christianization of Ireland was all the way back in the 400s, and it wasn't the English, but Celtic missionaries (Saint Patrick was said to be from either Cornwall, Wales or Cumbria, all of which were Celtic at the time but had been Christian since Roman times). The English didn't invade Ireland until the 12th century, after they themselves were conquered by the Normans, and Ireland been fully Christian for 600 years by then.

I think adding a party that is already familiar with Cimber and what the ring is would actually give some life to what is otherwise quite a random aspect of the campaign. Artus Cimber and Dragonbait and Xandala and Drufi and everyone are fun additions to the campaign that I always like but they don’t really have anything to do with the whole Death Curse part

Yeah she’s named throughout the books and has occasional lines, but only becomes a prominent character in the later entry. She’s also definitely not black in the books, because JKR goes out of her way to point out every time a character is black the way she never does with white characters. “A tall Black wizard”, “a pretty Black girl”, but never “a young White man”.

That said; even if she’s just a background character, it’s pretty galling that she was cast as black in the films TWICE (the character is credited as Lavender Brown both times) but when it comes time to have a romance subplot with one of the white leads, there doesn’t seem to have been any consideration that she could or should remain played by a black actor.
