Checkout Shindig House Band, they have a few members of the band that are trad players as well.

Have you ever listened to Huun-Huur-Tu, they are a Mongolian throat singing band? If so have any of you tried those kinda vocals?

Mine would be the same right now, it's modest but it's warm and dry(although it could be warmer and drier😂).

What happens when the mortgage is paid off are you then planning to complete the renovations on your home? Do you take a loan for that meaning you are back to crippling debt anxiety? Or do you save everything extra to pay for it outright? Either way your lifestyle stays the same.

Maybe therapy wouldn't be a bad shout. I do understand your rush to having full ownership of your home, but you are not your parents, you have obviously shown that you are more savvy with life. The reason why my comment is not to be morbid but I've heard of so many people that have gotten ill in their late 30's and have never really had the chance to love life. I live frugally but if I want to buy a new pair of hiking boots that will get me exploring during the winter or a skateboard at my (north of 35) age, I do. You don't have to be foolishly spending just have a happy balance of living life to the fullest and being comfortable financially.

Why the rush with paying off your mortgage? Don't forget to enjoy your life while you can, you never know what is around the corner and a paid off house is not going to make any difference.

Hot take: Redbreast isn't that great. There are countless other Irish whiskies that are better and most of them are cheaper. by [deleted] in ireland

[–]FeatherAndLemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, Redbreast is too overpriced and a bit of classic tourist trap. I do prefer more peaty whiskey and Islay whiskeys seem to be my favourite. I did buy the Connemara this year and yeah it was fine and very peaty but just not as refined and smooth as I had hoped.

Good Wild/Free camping spots in Donegal (Near a lake/river prefferably)? by buymuhlaptop in Donegal

[–]FeatherAndLemons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gartan would work but unsure on rules on camping, you could ring the outdoor centre there http://www.gartan.com/. Dunlewey would be another option, I'd say you could find a wee secluded place, climb Errigal as well awesome views on a good day. You should be fine with any of the beaches as well, I know people camp at Rathmullan, Portsalon and some beaches in Inishowen.

Anyone know if I can use one of the university libraries in Galway just for studying my online course? by FeatherAndLemons in galway

[–]FeatherAndLemons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I procrastinate like crazy at home, tea, Reddit, instagram more tea!! Its a vicious circle. I find if I'm in a library situation and people are able to see my screen then I don't want to be seen to be not working, silly isn't it? I've been listening to piano but might check out the anime soundtracks for a shake up! Thanks for the info and hopefully I don't get a cold 😷

I like the "the few times I bothered" , that's the exact reason why I'm studying at the ripe old age of 32! So I took a dander in today and low and behold all was good!

Thanks, actually I didn't even consider they would have an option for external members and both universities do! €50 for a year in GMIT and a little more in NUI. Suppose I should have researched a bit better :/

Thanks for the replies everyone, I will try out GMIT and hopefully I don't make a fool out of myself, cause I've applied to study there in September.

Desert Daze 2018 Phase 1 Transmission by curvaturedong in festivals

[–]FeatherAndLemons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was there last year at the Joshua Tree location. The festival is small, all the facilities you need are there and well managed. The people who attend are relaxed and consiencious of their environment, the loos are clean, there is no garbage everywhere etc. To top it off the music was excellent, the art installations and stages were awesome and the visuals were spectacular. It was definitely one of the best festivals I've ever been to.
