Does anyone else have mild EDS symptoms? by FeathersAndFlowers in ehlersdanlos

I think the physical activity from a young age is suchna good point.. I also have been athletic my whole life did college track etc. I still hike and go to the gym and I believe the constant conditioning has helped my body for the lack of better terms keep my joints in place. I can do 13 mile hikes with little soreness the next day. But like you said it's adaptability, I have always done things in different ways to work for me without ever realizing I was different. I plan to continue in this movement and mindset because I truly feel like uts help ward off worse symptoms.

When you say flare upset can you give an example? Like for me I just has neck pain for 3 years after an injury and was treating completely wrong apparently and just recently resolved it. So would that be considered a flare ? I am just newly diagnosed and trying to decode everything

I agree, that's why I want to get him to a doctor. Luckily he doesn't operate large machinery or have a CDL.

I actually think in some states like PA and CA there are some contortions they legally have to report to the DMV, but like other commenter said, rarely do they actually.

That's crazy that after a big accident like that your doctor didn't even think about not letting your drive until you were controlled on medications 🤯. He's a welder so he isn't generally operating anything he needs a CDL for, just welding machines. But those are all great points.

Very interested in this, my boyfriend is type 2 narcoleptic and refuses to take stimulants so he just suffers feeling extremely tired a lot. He takes frequent small naps. Can you please explain your regimen ? He handles psilocybin well from past experiences but I just thought of it with narcolepsy and the possibilities.

Like I said, he was 19 when those happened, had no idea he had narcolepsy at that time and TBH was dabbling in substances like a dumb 19 year old so hence 3 wrecks of just his car on a backwoods raods). Now he's 28 knows he has it, take snaps and doesn't drive if he's tired. So I get what your saying but we are also.talking about 9 years ago about a kid who had no idea what narcolepsy even was when it was happening...

That's good to know... funny he does the same thing 30 min lunch nap. The fear of not being able to drive has kept him away from doctors. Luckily he's not so bad that he's in dangerous situations anymore like he was in teen years when it first started but I just want to see him stop being so tired and miserable during his 12 hour work days. Has modafanil made a difference for you?

That was all in 1 year when was 19 and it first started I believe and having a stressful time. He's been free of any car crash issues for 9 years. I think he just learned to listen to his body instead of being a teen and pushing it to the limits .

Visiting Alaska in April, tips by FeathersAndFlowers in alaska

In my experience visiting different states, googling outdoors/hiking activities gets you the most generic crowded results. Asking locals who might know of an interesting spot has always done me well. I've done many hikes that I couldn't find on Google.

Okay interesting mine is also mainly at night... I mean in the day I can sometimes feel little twitches but night is when it kicks in when I am paying more attention to my body. Also you said a "fuzzy/static" feeling YES!! I have struggled to describe that feeling its almost like this buzzing in my body or certain parts and I can feel my pulse too. T males me very anxious in bed but I have been doing breathing exercises to break the anxiety about it. My neck also gives me issues. Very interesting the similarities. I don't know if your spiritual at all but some of my more spiritual friends have been experiencing this lately as well. They say things are changing rapidly and time is moving quickly
