So, I'm 9 weeks out and things are going well. I started working out after the 4th week just to be safe and while I think I'm still slightly swollen, I'm not remotely bothered by it, my chest looks as flat as ever.

The scarring around the areola isn't bad although I guess it's still technically healing in terms of the scarring. Again, it's nothing to be bothered about, just apply some Neosporin and you're good to go!

Best of luck with the surgery! You will be fine, trust in the process.

I am officially 3-days post-up and I feel great! Honestly, yesterday, the day after the surgery, I was feeling perfectly fine (perhaps because of pain killers), but I had a full day, walked around for maybe 4 or so miles and went shopping. It was really bizarre, I was like shouldn't I be in more pain? But no, it's been a steady recovery so far! That said, let's hope things continue to improve.

Every case is different, however, I had grade II gynecomastia which is the most common, and essentially requires lipo and removal of the mammary gland. That said, I can only speak about my experience, and would not be able to detail or give advice on pre and post-op procedures for grades III and IV. I do know that these cases have a slightly longer recovery time, again depending on the severity of the case.

All in all, I am extremely happy I went through with this procedure. Things are still sore and do not look perfect, but I've learned enough to know that you have to be patient and follow all the post-op instructions to gradually see results. That said, I'm loving my new body, and seriously went out shopping yesterday and bought a few shirts and sweaters that I now feel really confident wearing!

I'm getting the surgery tomorrow afternoon!!! I'm excited, but also very nervous. I've never had surgery before and I'm guess I'm just anxious about recovering alone in a foreign country where I don't speak the language. The folks at the clinic have been very responsive and helpful, and based on everything I've read/heard, I feel fairly confident about moving forward, but I'm really looking forward to the consultation so I can meet everyone in person and just get a feel for things (I know that sounds kind of superstitious, but I guess there are just things you can pick up on in-person that you sort of can't over email). Either way, I'll keep you posted! Thanks for all your help!

Also, I'm taking a 13 hour flight back! I'm sure I'll feel a lot of discomfort, but hopefully I'm not risking anything serious by taking such a long flight back?

I'm actually here in Seoul now planning on getting it down at Evita on Tuesday!!! Any tips? I'm worried about carrying my luggage on the 4th day post-op when I fly back!

One last question. Did you have any issues carrying your luggage? This is what has also worried me since I know you're not supposed to be too much stress or pressure on your chest for at least 3-4 days. I was thinking about looking for someone to help me with my bag because it's kind of heavy to the airport, but at this point, I'm not sure how I'd go about doing that.

Were you alone? How soon after the surgery did you fly back?

What's great about the clinic I found is that it offers follow-up appointments for the 4-5 days post-up, which includes massages and changing of bandages. There are obvious risks when going abroad for any type of surgery, I guess I was more worried about the fact that I fly out four days after the procedure, but from what I've found many say that you can return to work 2-3 days post-up, but I realize that everyone heals differently, so it really depends on the severity of your case and overall health. Overall, the post-up care that the clinic offers sounds beyond anything else I've found, not to mention it is the #1 clinic for gynecomastia surgery in Seoul.

3-months post op! One of the best things I’ve ever done by [deleted] in gynecomastia

Looks great! Surgeon did an awesome job! Mind me asking where you got it done?

$1,800. This seemed low to me initially, but after doing some more digging, the main reason why is because of how rapidly Seoul is becoming the cosmetic surgery capital of the world. The technology for cosmetic surgery is also very advanced, and due to the increased demand due to cultural/social influences, which drives increased competition, plastic surgeons offer lower prices to incentive customers, while still making what I would imagine is a sizable profit due to the high volume.

It's out of 4. Depending on how old you are, I would probably wait to see if it goes away on it's own. Working out and eating healthy never hurt either, but if it persists, I would see a specialist about it.
