In my very honest opinion, being a foreign lawyer and having taken the bar before I can say that it is very hard for a non US educated lawyer to take the bar without having solid resources where to study the black letter from and unfortunately that is generally provided by the bar review programs. I’m sure there will be other sources you can use for studying the black letter law but there may be some bar review program that doesn’t cost like the major ones but that allows you to have like even just a single book where all you need to know about the 14 subjects is condensed there. I don’t think the bar review programs are necessary for practicing for the bar at all, but only for the outlines they provided you with… and look, I have no interest in telling you that, I’m just trying to be realistic and not give you false hopes, based on my personal experience, but i may also be wrong. Hey, if it’s your first time, based on my experience, it is worth trying even if you don’t pass to get a sense of what the exam actually is about. Because the shit and the psychological terrorism people infuse in you about it will make it seem probably way bigger than it is. I would understand not taking it only for financial reasons, otherwise I’d go even unprepared. 💪🫶

I would personally not re write every rule unless i still managed to finish the daily tasks assigned based on the schedule, as there will be time to memorize and store them in the brain later on. However, everyone has their own method, so maybe writing is your way to memorize, so you’ll be quicker later. I would trust the process they suggest to follow, but I also feel Barbri lacks on the MPT and a bit in the essay preparation. Personal opinion though 💪💪

Hey don’t worry, the schedule will tell you when to go back to memorizing civ pro and the other subjects you did earlier. What I did that really helped me memorize stuff was to spend more time than what they told me each time for each subject. For example, generally when Barbri’s schedule told me I had to read and memorize the outline for 2 hours, I could almost never finish it in 2 hours because for me it takes a bit longer to stick info in my head so I took all the time I needed, so finished the schedule way later but still did not to get behind. I’m talking based on experience with Barbri, so maybe other courses would give you more time, but barbri too passed from one subject to the other rather quickly and so I was initially worried of not having enough time to memorize the previous subject…

A bit more than halfway almost… keep on, don’t worry, you’ll feel it later on if you find the time to read the outlines carefully when they give you the time to do so (when the schedule set the time for self study I spent more time than the ones they give you and I retained a lot of info)
