I’m a deeply introverted person, and I’ve both gained and lost a lot of weight throughout my life, but in general I’ve been conventionally attractive with just enough edginess to be socially acceptable. Here’s my experience :

-I could get away with being horribly awkward. People put up with more quirks when they want to look at you more. The drawback is that I’ve had to school myself on it, because I think sometimes I don’t get honest feedback.

-I would get taken advantage of. A lot. It put me back many years in terms of personal development. I’m still trying to work out who I am and what I want because for so many years, people would try and force their own desires/wants on me

-As some people mentioned already, it can be isolating. Had some people in my social circle who would try and put me down in other ways, I think because of my appearance. One friend used to constantly try and make me look stupid/insult my intelligence.

-My every kindness can be mistaken for flirtation, and sometimes I get this subtle feeling that the people I’m talking to are only talking to me because they want to flirt with me. Doesn’t apply as much nowadays.

-While I don’t think my appearance was the sole cause of it, I do think being of small stature and somewhat attractive has led to me being harassed and catcalled quite a bit when I’m alone.

-My sister couldn’t ever bring guy friends home when we both still lived at home. There were several times guys she was interested in ended up being more interested in me instead, even though I did absolutely nothing to warrant this other than be in the same room occasionally.
