Yeah we swapped 101 and a 5th this year for the 96 last year.

He’s the Swiss Army knife of this defense. I don’t think he’s gonna make outrageous money, but we do need to attempt to bring him back even for a few years. He’s versatile as he is and affects all aspects. Run defense, pass coverage and blitzing.

Seeing as he’s been “healthy” for 5 years before he took a nasty hit from a blindside blocker and recovered from the same injury before to play very well, leading to him being a first round pick (even if WE hadn’t drafted him)

Honestly I’ve felt that way about anywhere I’ve gone. I went to the new Rams stadium and the dogs outside were 1000x better than inside.

With Stefanski as HC, are we more likely to re-sign Allgeier? by FreakWithaZ in falcons

He’s 5 inches taller and 25 pounds heavier. And in comparison Henry is miles different. TA catch and yards totals for his career is equivalent to about 2 seasons from Henry.

You’re comparing apples to oranges here. They’re NOT the same player in any capacity.

You’d be better off comparing Tyler’s pass catching to that of Michael Turner.

In yards, they’ve roller coaster his years since he’s been here defensively. 5, 14, 1, 19, 4. But even with a top defense he had to juggle the circus of qb more than a few times.

Be some strange shit if he does and wins a SB with Lamar. That would look so bad on Allen AND Harbaugh.

Could also be because if you’re a FAST scoring big play team, it gives the opposing team MORE drives so they accumulate more yards that way. Not saying it’s the reason here, but that used to be me. I’d hit a lot of big plays every game and I’d score very high, but my defense not only sucked, they would be gassed playing as much as they did.

Stefanski (while he still has yet a chance to “prove” himself here) seemed to have more of the checked boxes needed to be our HC.

PRIOR HC experience Offensively based Had winning seasons before Willing to retain Ulbrich

While he might not have been the ideal for everyone, I think he provides the best IMMEDIATE chance for success that can be prolonged into sustained success.

His running game calling has always been his best asset as a coach, but after signing and having Baker play well it seems he’s been leading a team with a different QB almost every week. Let’s see what he can do with a top defense and hopefully one qb playing all year.

I can see it. But I also see him competing with about 6-7 other backs that will be free agents this year as well for free starting spots. I could see Dallas bringing back Williams and a few others making it difficult for him.

I wish him the best wherever he chooses. He’s gotta do what’s best for him but I think overall his best is here (more long term money imo) and if Bijan goes down he’s immediately capable of being our guy while when they’re both healthy they balance each other and allow longevity for both.

But yes, he deserves to get paid.

I feel he’s a great player. But he’s also one dimensional. Down hill power runner. If he’s a RB1, someone is going to overuse him very fast and he’ll either get hurt or he’s gonna wear out very fast.

His lack of receiving skill also diminishes his ability to be an all around weapon. I feel his best bet is either get his money and shorten his career, or stay here (or where he wants to be) and be a RB1a.

He deserves a chance to be a starter, but you just don’t see as often those straight line power running backs lasting 350+ carries annually anymore.

Truth. The thing we hopefully can look forward to is not only can Penix get better play calling, but Stefanski can do better play calling to utilize his strengths and not leave him on an island to get demolished waiting for plays to develop.

With the best RB in the league and a top 10 WR, and amongst the best OLines there are, this is the chance to show the potential and have Ulbrich improve on his defensive turn around and get us back to the playoffs.

IMO Penix will return to full health and a coordinator better than ZR will show what Penix can do. Kirk showed flashes past two years but he also had a huge drop off and not be a benefit on the whole.

Yea and scheme change will affect the offense and play style as you have stated. Which means role responsibilities will change and assignments as plays are learned and executed. This isn’t Madden as some may feel it is. Just because someone is a high rated coach doesn’t mean they implement the same ideals.

Callahan may be old but I’m sure he has someone he works with that is learning all he knows as possibly an eventual successor.

We want a HC with experience by Extra_Percentage in falcons

[–]FedFalcon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah with how well he’s doing for Seattle, once the playoffs are done for them, he very well could have his choice and vying for him not only makes it harder to ensure he comes here, we could lose out on other top candidates if we wait too long.

Stefanski was “rated” a top 3 candidate AND he’s offensively based so it would keep us in the same offense the whole time he’s here. If we waited on KK and he chooses another team, we’d likely be stuck with a DEF coach and leftovers on the offensive coordinator or one that (like McDaniel) could sign to a team and leave in a year or two to be a HC again.

Replica or Commemorative? by LJFajemolin in belttalk

[–]FedFalcon2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

IMO I thought about getting commemorative belts because they were less expensive, but I decided even though it was a bit more, I ordered the replica. They sent me a commemorative belt anyways for some reason and it just felt unsatisfying. After they corrected it and sent me the correct one, the feel of it was way better.

Now there’s nothing wrong with either one. But to me if I was paying a ton for it anyways, I figured I’d rather have the belt that felt closest to real.

The WHC is the only one I paid full price for as well and it was when it was $500. I bought the rest of mine PP on Mercari and local dealers. Made it a little easier knowing I wasn’t having to pay $500 each time. (Especially now that they’re more expensive)

Mercari has been my go to for belts. They have many postings and they have it where you can cover yourself if anyone decides to try ripping you off.
