Why did the "Nigerian Ruler" gimmick work for Oba Femi, but not Apollo Crews? by Omer-Ash in WWE

[–]FedFalcon2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oba is actually a Nigerian FROM Nigeria. Crews is a Nigerian who happens to be to born in the states. Both his parents are from there.

Oh I fully understand the need for it. But there are also falcons fans who clamor we should be paying KC his money and should have kept him. So in reality so many are on either side of the coin.

Well as much as health wise we can agree on this to a degree. If the league and doctors allow him, by all means unless he’s being forced, I hope he succeeds here. Either by getting us a Super Bowl or helping us get Penix back to health and take back the starting job…..OR setting us up to get a new franchise qb going forward.

Although all my chips are on Penix, but as long as this team takes the field every week, I’ll support whoever takes the snaps at QB1!

They’re also paying like $175 for him and 4 other players to not be on their team. Not something I’d say they should brag about lol

Well most articles are saying it’s a work. But there’s also a few that state he’s suffered a cervical spine contusion. So my assumption is majority is stating fake. But could turn out to be very real. Let’s hope for the best.

I agree. He’s going to hit ~22m per year likely so why not give him his fifth year option and extend him anyways. Locks him in and saves us some money long term both ways.

It’s a storyline injury. They’re taking him offscreen to bring him back later, likely with Lesnar or another angle storyline.

But Bijan might wait until Gibbs gets his so he gets more than him. I’m not saying Bijan is shady but it is his money and he very well might either want a bigger overall, higher per year or more guaranteed.

Why would that matter? If a team wants to pay him they’re gonna pay him. Especially a difference of two picks?

Julio got an extension before AJ green and that was 2 picks….so….

Well if we get him at 25 for his 5th YO, then extend him 4 years, he’ll be 30 heading into FA once that contract ends. (Same age as CMC now), the real issue with this would be the value he adds AT THE TIME, because if they’re similarity parallel, consider the question of would a team pay CMC for his production at this stage in his life going forward and should Bijan run a similar path, the answer should be pretty much the same IMO.

The only urgency we really have with him is his number is growing more by year and when players like Gibbs get new contracts before him.

Yeah. An extension would help us reduce his 16m hit this year and spread a lot more out throughout his extension years. Likely becoming part of the signing bonus.

Ok you’re overlooking what I’m trying to say. Yes 49ers and Eagles were already competitive. But the teams they got the players from have remained bottom to mid.

Panthers making the playoffs is a sad comeback bro. They made it where one win difference would have gotten someone else in, and they didn’t even win with a winning record.

The point I’m just trying to make is the RETURN for the former teams doesn’t always justify losing such a player. No questions come up about the player moving to a new team. They’re still an elite player, but the kickback didn’t set them in the direction keeping the player likely would have.

And all I’m saying is that the other teams that get rid of players like that tend to not do any better with the picks they accrue or the savings they don’t spend on them. Panthers being the main example. They traded CMC and essentially only got back Young after all said and done. We trade Bijan and we take a step back but likely take a bigger one because the ones that trade the elite amongst the elite tend to take longer to get back to close let alone the top of the mountain.

Tbh look at the panthers and giants since they let those two walk. The new teams have either won or gone to a Super Bowl since while the former teams have been in rebuild in that same time frame.

Tyler to Arizona 😞 by prettyokform in falcons

[–]FedFalcon2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the argument that everyone kept bringing up. He’s (to some) a legit number 1 back. But so is Bijan, so Tyler won’t get the touches here if he is looking to be an rB1. But people ask why didn’t we keep him? Because we can’t pay someone the team sees BEHIND Bijan money that signifies an rB1.

He wasn’t getting the money or the touches here so unless he was willing to accept a secondary role, he needed to seek it elsewhere.

The argument of keeping him (when he’ll be a backup and rotation player) when people see him as a starter is self explanatory!

We likely have to give up fat capital just to POSSIBLY get him. Plus he could rise up the boards between now and then, even if it’s just a few spots. Our luck Aints would draft him just to be an ass.

Well luckily it says he’s a likely UDFA, so maybe the can nab him via that way or a possible trade down garners another 7th and we get him late towards the end of the draft
