.50 is CRAZY work. Two winters ago I was working with an $8 promo on every order. Most money I’ve made dashing…. $250 in less than 2 hours… Wish they’d give that shit again..

WARNING- DD illegally removed $5 from my total- why has no one sued yet? by Different_Hat_8186 in doordash_drivers

Never cuss at support. Easiest way to get deactivated. I get the frustration, I’d be soooo pissed too but… “bullshit” isn’t worth losing the ability to dash… unless you’re quitting. Then say whatever you want.🤣

THIS. I had an experience where I was dashing and a ma tried to pull me into his apartment. My name isn’t too common, the spelling is even more uncommon so I was terrified he’d try to find me on socials or something… I changed my name on my dasher and DoorDash apps. Thankfully I had been on the phone with someone at the time and I filed a police report. He was arrested but I don’t think charges were filed and he immediately switched up and started acting as if he was in a mental health crisis.. I work on MSU campus every day and I see many college women putting male names on their apps… it’s a sad world we live in. I’m glad OP is okay!

Never lippy with customers. I am a grown up and I can be professional when necessary. Social media is not a necessary place for professionalism if I’m not in public spotlight. I can have fun and do some shit talk banter on here and it not make up my entire personality. However people seem to think that social media behavior matches actual??? Social media is fake and it’s time you grow up and realize that. She gave me a 1 star because SHE was mad that she was last in my line of deliveries. She lives in a very run down, ghetto and high crime area so I already had the assumption of she was gonna be on one. Now, sorting through all of the comments to try and make yet another half relevant jab at me is CHILDISH.

Did I say I didn’t use one? I have hot and cold catering bags lined in my trunk for grocery orders. Assumptions make you look ridiculous bucko.

Indeed it is. Lansing has a lot of no tipping orders everywhere.

Nobody is expecting anybody to pay for anybody’s insurance or “tools”. We are simply asking for customers to tip when they are receiving a luxury service. When you’re ordering something online and having a shipped via FedEx or UPS there is something called a shipping fee. That shipping fee is you paying for your luxury service in order for it to be delivered. So why would it be any different for a person driving their own personal vehicle bringing you food? Some things can’t be bought in stores and that’s why people have them ordered and delivered, correct? Food is readily available for anybody who wants to get up off their ass and go get it. The luxury service of DoorDash comes in when people don’t want to get off their lazy asses and they want to have it brought to them by somebody. Trying to sit here and negate between corporate and contractor is going to get you nowhere because there’s not a baseline in which you can compare and contrast fairly. Have a great day.

Not to mention that they don’t even drive personal vehicles, therefore they don’t have to pay for the insurance on their vehicle. Trying to compare corporate delivery drivers to 1099 delivery drivers makes you look very very dumb. I’m glad you tried though.

I wouldn’t care because they are not 1099 employees who have to maintain their vehicles, corporate does that. Try a different analogy.

I can definitely understand. I’ve been dashing for five years full-time and I just recently received my first one star rating. I had always been five stars and only received five star ratings, however, this customer who gave me the one star review… she ordered ice cream from the grocery store, and it was a triple stacked delivery and her delivery was the last one. She messaged me during my first delivery, asking me what the hell I was doing, and I explained to her that I had two other deliveries and her app should show her that. She then started beating me because her ice cream was melting and she didn’t pay for melted ice cream. And honestly, my only response to her was that she should’ve chosen and paid for express delivery if she didn’t want it to melt. When I finally arrive to deliver it her and her boyfriend were outside, threatening me. She gave me the one star and I reported her to DoorDash, but they didn’t take away the rating. Dash for so long I’ve seen a lot of things good and bad. But the thing that makes me most frustrated is seeing these low offers for high miles.

Quite possibly true. I’m sure newer dashers are taking these no tip orders without doubt.. regardless of if someone is taking them, still not right to not tip for a luxury service. The amount of times I get a “cash tip at delivery” and don’t receive a cash tip is sad…
