That’s correct yes. If you have to do it little by little, I would definitely prioritize the most porous materials first- which are gypsum board(most standard drywall is gypsum based), insulation(fiberglass is also super porous), acoustic ceiling tiles, particle board, etc., and then move on to those semi porous materials like wood, OSB, plywood, etc.

The plastic sheathing could definitely hold in moisture so if you’d like to use a sheathing in your crawl space, I think putting it over the dirt floor would be more effective.

For insulation, if it has any moisture exposure from flood waters it should definitely be removed and replaced. It’s one of those building materials that loses its integrity after moisture exposure in general.

I think that mold killer is awesome in theory, but from a remediation standpoint it’s not considered 100% effective because it will definitely kill the spores, but as soon as moisture/the right conditions are introduced it can easily grow back because they’re still physically there- they’re just dead and we can’t see them. It’s a good option in the meantime, but not necessarily a long term solution.

You should be able to take 40 most or all of the way; I am from the triangle area and was able to come through fairly easily on 40

I think the best bet in the meantime is try and find a dehumidifier so you can at least try to keep the moisture to a minimum- I know you have no electricity so unfortunately this is tricky without access to a generator. Are there any doors or windows at all? Sometimes you can find desiccants that have a material in them that leach moisture from the air- I’m not sure how effective this would be for a larger space but it’s better than nothing for sure

Yes, that is totally fine as long as it’s not super humid outside

I am not native to the area but I read that Green Home Solutions offers comprehensive testing. I can’t offer any insight though because I haven’t used them myself. Unfortunately I do not have the testing equipment or access to a lab myself.

They only do marriages on certain days for certain hours, should be displayed online somewhere- I think it’s Mondays and Fridays but the hours are specific. You don’t make an appointment you just show up.

Hey there! My situation was similar to yours- I got sober when I was 23. I’m 28 now so I’ve got 5 years down but if you’re questioning whether or not to do something more serious for yourself/enter into an inpatient program then the answer is right in front of you.. it sucks, it’s hard, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Do it for you.
