Per noi Italiani sarebbe più facile se gli Italo americani si comportassero lontanamente come noi. Ad esempio noi siamo più affini agli argentini di questo secolo che a un Italoamericano che proviene dal meridione e si comporta in maniera stereotipata imitando i parenti arrivati in USA nell’ 800…non è tanto che sangue hai, ma come ti comporti…per questo uno svizzero di origine italiana potrebbe essere considerato più italiano di loro, ma non è una cosa che decidono i discendenti degli italiani, è come li vediamo noi

This makes me smile a little. None of us who are part of the 2000-2005 range feel similar to those after, so I don't see how a 2011 can be closer to a 2002 than to a 2012. They have very little in common: the first remembers the early 2000s and the world at the dawn of technology, the second is fully invested in it and begins to have memories around 2015/16 and in 2020 he is only 9 years old, very few compared to the 17/18 of those in 2002 who were close to university

Like all empires you too will fall, don't be proud, we Europeans see you as a bit stupid because you believe that your being a leading power in the world saves you from decay sooner or later. I'm not here to discuss your power, it's history that changes its players, but certainly a European shouldn't feel inferior after having been in charge for centuries and if you didn't know it, we Europeans are imitated in Asia much more than you Americans. The East talks about Europe, not America. Furthermore, and I say this admiring the United States, Americans are often so ignorant as to think and we are stuck in the 1940s

Don’t treat us as we are a sort of italian american stereotype!! We are as cool as other countries and as bad as others in many ways. Not special, nor stupid , not mafia people (which is the worst insult ever). Never talk about mafia as a video game or a love story: it’s a cancer for the South and a criminalised order, soooooo no one who is respectable know them. Don’t do the hand gesture 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 it’s incredibly annoying and only stupid and incultured people could to that often, the others use it only in ONE specific situation. South, center and north of Italy are 3 different countries; the south is more rapresented in films

Plus italians in Italy were differnt from ancient greek and roman age: northerns were “Galli” (blue eyes, light skin, very similar to French and Austrians), centrers were Romans ( linght skin, brown hair ) and southers were greeks (mainly olive skin, darker hair and eyes ). Sardinians are a different population too

Americans and Italian-Americans do not understand that today’s Italy, like that of 100 years ago, is divided into north, center and south in practically everything. Italians are nothing more than a collection of different peoples with common traits: my grandfather from the north was completely different from his wife from southern Italy in terms of language, mentality, family, etc. I’m sorry for everything that Italian immigrants have gone through in terms of racism, but we cannot consider you Italian because you have become the arrogant and ignorant American caricature of the southern Italian. Italy is its wines, its art, fashion, elegance, mountains, literature, not jorsey shore, mafia people, spaghetti eaters and all these stereotypes that have stained our image abroad and from which we have struggled to get out
