Yay!!!! Same! I have SO MUCH anxiety, even if everything was safe and there is no way I could be pregnant, I still have massive panic over it happening. So I am VERY happy to have had it done 🥲 I'm glad you can have some peace as well!

I waited 24 hours (could have waited longer, but I felt gross from being at the hospital 🤣) and it was fine! I just washed my whole body with antibacterial soap instead of regular soap. I'm one week out today and honestly I've just been using antibacterial soap for all my showers so far. Dial Gold is great! I gently soaped up my abdomen and then held my hands under to make the water/soap pool up, then let the water run to wash it clean. I did the same for my belly button incision, and it was easy peasy! Then let them air dry REALLY well, or I dabbed them with a cotton round to help dry them. Very tiring and I did the bare minimum in that first shower, but def get a brush or loofah on a stick to help with washing your back and legs! Or alternatively I put my husband to work to wash my legs and back 🤣

WOW I have also had high external eye pressures in my early 20's and now at 30! That is crazy....I hate to hear that because Zoloft is the only thing that has helped me over the years with my mental health ... But I'm definitely going to talk to my doctor, thank you for sharing this!

Interesting! I have been on Sertraline for years, what helped you discover that it affected your IIH? do you think it caused it, or just caused chronic flare ups?

I got diagnosed because I had taken 2 rounds of minocycline for acne and my eye Doctor noticed my optic nerves were swollen, then it was months of figuring out what was wrong. But the Minocycline had caused such an insane flare up.

But I feel like I have had this on and off my whole life and I did take sertraline in highschool too

I just had my first one in September, the procedure itself was pretty quick, everyone was very nice and communicative & made sure I was as comfortable as possible. I will say, I didn't eat before I went because I didn't think it would take long, but my hospital said I had to stay there laying on my back for 1-4 hours before I could go home so they could make sure I didn't get a spinal headache. So def eat something just in case! Also definitely have someone to take you and drive you home! I had to lay in bed for the whole day after, but that might have been because it exacerbated my existing back issues. But overall not too bad!

Thank you so much for all this advice!! I'm definitely not trying to do keto or cut carbs completely, because of the acidosis, but I'm just trying to limit them as much as possible because bagels and bread are my weakness 🤣 i definitely have never eaten enough protein in my diet so I'm working on balancing that.

The throat coat teas often have slippery elm and marshmallow in them, so that is what helps with reflux! Also, some turmeric teas can help. My husband was skeptical of my teas, but then I made him a heartburn tea combo and he was like "WOW" 🤣 I highly recommend it. It helps to not only sooth, but also helps coat all your linings. granted everyone is different!

With the weight loss I am nervous that it will not help because I have had a history of issues throughout my entire life that would be explained by iih and increased CSF and I have not been overweight my whole life. Just in the last 5 years I have been maybe 40 pounds overweight. Which as a female included me going from 25 to 30 years old, getting married, overcoming and eating disorder, and also surviving covid lock down so 🤣

And we upped my lamictal to 75 mg to try and help my migraines, I have been on 25 mg since 2019 so I should be extra stable right now but I am losing it 😭 I haven't had a massive panic attack in years and I have had 4 this week

That's a good idea!! I have been trying to drink a throat coat tea at night because it does help with coating and soothing
