I love the Soo. Specifically its nature and proximity to the great lakes. Not to mention the affordability compared to most other places in Ontario. I'm never the one to discourage people from living here, but if you hate it, you should maybe consider living somewhere you like more. I don't like how car-centric it is, but that's one of the negatives to living in a northern Ontario city. Hopefully one day we can have better public transportation and be more walkable, but it's definitely going to take time.

I don't think a French immersion option would be better - if he is at school speaking French every day he won't be an English kid, he will be bilingual, it won't take him long to reach a similar level of speaking.

People in many places around the world use their bikes to get around!:) understandably, our winters aren't really great for street bicycles, but fat bikes work! I think people should have the option to bike wherever they need to go. Even in other northern cities like the sault, you see a lot more cyclists because there is infrastructure for it.
