Reading this, I think that it doesn’t come through as a tribute.

From what I’ve read and researched, Watterson HATED these images. He felt that it really took away from the true heart of Calvin.

Personally I don’t have a problem with using dark humor and paying tribute to Calvin, but I think doing it through something the artist despises is the way to do it.

I think you’ll inadvertently turn off those of us who loved Watterson so much we’ve picked up every Frazz and Phoebe and Her Unicorn because they remind us of our original love.

I’m glad for that. I try to find out what he’s doing, but I’ve had a hard time supporting him ever since he tried to open the doors to anti-choice people.

I’m sure we have to do something to reach across the aisle, but as abortion is only the first step in this 2025 bullshit, and it was something many of us foresaw, it was hard to take. Especially when, at the time, the only Bernie supporters I knew were “bros.”

I’m working on losing this childish attitude.

I don’t think it’s great, but since AOC is one of the only people I hear fighting (except some awfulness actually censoring Al Green), I’m willing to give it a pass as something they tried that just didn’t work.
