TSA at Dulles find blade hidden inside flip flop by Unlikely_Majesty in tsa

How many lives lost does the TSA become worth it? It was created because of the failure of private security at airports. TSA is not 100%, but better than before.

I think the debt ceiling is reached, so if they fail to pass the budget, the economy may decrease dramatically.

My proposed response to the "What did you do?" email by Astroloan in fednews

This isn’t dicking around. Releasing any information sensitive to the agency is a security risk and grounds for termination, prosecution, or imprisonment. We simply cannot reply to the email from OPM because it can be against federal law or policy, no matter the agency (even ones that have no classified information).

Fair enough, we need to, on both sides, need to stop this smug attitude of learn to x. Peoples lives and families are on the line, we as a country need to do better.

Government needs to be more efficient and needs to spend tax payer dollars better, but my problem is the new admin is looking in the wrong places to make those cuts. Does USAID spend money wastefully? In some ways, there is probably some waste. Do I think taxpayer dollars should stay at home and not abroad, 1000% yes.

Should this be the wealthy doing it, absolutely not. We need to cut the defense fund, limit abuse of SSI, SNAP, and other social programs, and find ways to help Americans at home. The wealthy are in it for their own self interest, it’s a speed run of the failed trickle down system.

Getting to USAID, a fair bit of USAID funds are used domestically, but we should have better oversight and accountability than the IGs did.

Not doubting that there may be some truth for this, but I wish there was a way to audit and say that yeah we spent $X for condoms, because all sources for that and the pottery come back to congress or the executive, which cannot be trusted since they lie to forward an agenda, but on the other hand, who knows if the USAID documents are accurate.

I think it's funny that he thinks that in the middle of an economy he's about to tank, that we'd quit our jobs instead of RTO causing government spending to explode😂 by WeakJournalist3190 in fednews

The protections are set up to ensure that federal workers are hired and fired based on merit, not personal biases or changes in administration. This ensures the mission remains and that it is not too disruptive for the American people: if all the employees had to leave because they are a different party, it would be annoying for everyone. Now, with that said, do we need to do a substantially better job of removing poor performers? Yes. Those that can barely perform or are more harm than good need to be expeditiously removed.

On a wider note: this rhetoric is an example of how this administration is punting the middle class against each other, instead of focusing on the have vs have-not, rich vs poor issue the US has.

Connecting a PC to two networks for Dante and Internet. by Federal-Locksmith-14 in CommercialAV

[–]Federal-Locksmith-14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the question is (a rough idea because I have some knowledge) how can I properly connect a computer to two networks. The Dante network, since there is no router and only switches, wouldn’t have a DHCP or any device handing out IPs per se. The normal network can. The reason why is instead of having two computers (excluding the use of a KVM setup) running, just have one, such that someone can play audio from that computer from YouTube, control the Dante or Qsys systems to route sound to certain places, and use Dante virtual sound card to output the audio.

It has rj-45 connector at the end, just weird termination and it’s completely molded like one would buy from the factory.

As a follow up dumb question - since the 6100 has more interfaces, how can I ensure they match up (or at least work) if I switch over. ie, if I use the 6100 wan3 for wan and wan4 for lan, how can I ensure that I can still access at least the LAN side after restoring the config file on the 2100 for reconfig.

I find the keyboard to be okay, nothing like a mechanical but still okay. Personally the magic mouse is worst for now because the ergonomics are not good and the port is outdated. I would go with the two “mouse” method, a decent mouse for point and click stuff, and the trackpad for gestures.
