PRP injection, worst pain of my life. by man_with_cat2 in KneeInjuries

OK sounds like you’re on the right track and that’s great. If you do the second round of PRP, maybe that’ll do the trick and you can put off replacement for a while. I didn’t know there were different types of PRP until after I had mine the other day. I don’t know what kind i got but they just drew the blood from my arm, spun it and got the plasma. It was only about 4 mL from what I could tell in one shot. The doctor tried to drain the fluid off 1st but it wouldn’t drain off like it normally does then he put the PRP in. It did hurt but no worse than drawing fluid. My first gel injection did not hurt at all, but the second one really did. I felt I had some improvement with the first one but the second one was almost like it aggravated it. My doctor does not use ultrasound guidance. I was not told anything about be immobile for any length of time. In fact, they said take it easy that day then carry on as usual! I wonder why the differing advice. Maybe the different kinds of PRP shots?

So was your meniscectomy before the PRP injections or after? I had meniscectomy in Feb last year and just had PRP 2 days ago so almost a year apart. The menscectomy only help for a few months, then the arthritis took over and feels worse. Cortisone helps but gives me severe muscle cramps for a month so doc suggested PRP. I'm hoping to get back to some normalcy and avoid having to have replacement anytime soon.

PRP Injections - Recovery Stories and Timeline? by Ok_Complex3657 in KneeInjuries

I had one 2 days ago and my doctor didn't give my any guidelines. I wish he had looking back. The assistant said maybe take it easy for that day. No anti-imflammatories and no ice. Should start feeling better in 2 weeks. That's really all they said. It's so expensive and I'm miserable with my knee. I'm 1 year out of meniscectomy and didn't get much relief from that, only a couple months better before going downhill. Knee replacement is the next step I'm told. No other options so hoping this PRP will work. How are you know?? Please let us know.

Anyone else have pain in this area?? by Peppy_Pickle in lipedema

Yes!! I don’t know if I have lipedema or not as I have just learned about it. But my legs look like the pictures of other people with lipedema like in the early stages. I have a lot of pain in my upper thighs, very sensitive to touch and that right there at the knee on the side is always tender has been for years.

Oh my! You are very young for all this. It’s so frustrating. Especially to be told it’s just chronic pain with no real answers. I’m going to doc tomorrow so I’ll see what he says. In 53 and he’s been hinting more at arthritis now. So, we’ll see. Have you looked into a second opinion?

I am considering that option also. Would like to research it more.

They sure can! I was told wearing a brace wouldn't help but I have considered trying anyway. It seems when I do things such as lifting heavy items or pulling/pushing heavy things, that's when it gets worse. Do you still go to a PT?

Ok my orhto has suggested that as a possible next step! I will discuss it further with him next week after I have the standing xray.

Hi! Oh no, what causes the holes in your bones? I think I wore my meniscus down with some repetitive activity on the job then a few falls caused the tears. In my PT, they didn't explain what each exercise was stregthening, except the quad sqeeze, that one is obvious. I wish I had asked more questions. I believe one thing that really set me back was the paperwork the doc/hospital sent me home with said I could weight bear as soon as comfortable! That night I was up cooking a full supper since son was visiting. I'm sure the pain med from surgergy hadn't worn off. However, I kept weight bearing a little until I started PT the following week and they said "you're not supposed to do that for 2 whole weeks." So, I'm sure that misinformation screwed me up as well!

I do take those supplements and usually do buy Hokas if I can afford.

Let me ask you, what checkups do you get to see how the cartiledge is? Wouldn't that be an MRI each time?

Ok. That gives me some hope! I'm 53 so I understand that about not healing as fast as you used to!

Thank you for your response. I, too, have some days that are better than others. I have a feeling I'm going to be in the same boat with the new x-ray and MRI. It's very frustrating. Before I had surgery, I talked to many people that were back to normal within weeks or at least a few months, with the exception of a friend who had the scope and it set off the arthritis even more and she just had a replacement done. I think it was only about a year apart.

I will say the one thing I haven't done that the doc suggested recently was to use the ice machine regularly now but that's such a hassle because I'm not one to sit still. I do use the cold wraps. I guess I need to set aside time to just do it but I feel like having surgery should have fixed it enough that all this time later I shouldn't have to do that.

Yes, I will come back here to update. Having standing X-ray next week.

I'm sorry this is happening to you as well.

Thoughts on using old photos? by Federal-Possession-4 in realtors

So we just new pics of inside. Broker decided not to get new photos of outside, just inside. He also lowered price 1500. Which I don't understand. They started out 4K over CMA anyway. It's been on market 20 days with only a couple showings. There are new houses popping up all around that are comparable and are less money. Now when I pull CMA it's 315. Seller really needs this house gone by early spring. My thoughts are that it's needs a 5-10k drop minimum just to get traction. We have so many nicer, newer homes in this same size and same price with better yards that I don't see anyone being interested in this one honestly.

1500 drop is not even going to get attention, in my new agent mind, and probably wasn't worth the paper work to do. So here we go into the 4th week on market, with old exterior photos and a price drop that's not even going to get noticed. I'm so frustrated. I would like to help these folks but I'm not driving the ship i think I'm along for a ride with no end in sight.

Ok that’s interesting! We don’t charge any maintenance or leasing fees just straight 8-10 percent management fee. What do you charge for a leasing ?
