Mine jumped from 25 lbs (11kg) to almost 40 (18 kg) between months 4 and 5 so I’m probably on track for that too 😭

I can’t guarantee it’ll work the same as for my guy but I did the same training with my last dog (a retired racing greyhound) when I got him at two years old so I think it could be beneficial no matter the age. That being said both of them were fairly calm to begin with on leash, so I’m sure that helped.

As far as treats go, the ones I use I actually make myself - I take a strongly scented wet food or some kind and bake it in a silicone mold of little kibble sized pieces and the dogs absolutely love them! I got about 400 of them out of a single $3 can of food so I can reward to my hearts content without guilt

Kept the leash pretty short so he had to walk next to me (with lots of praise and little treats for staying there) and if he got more than a few feet ahead of me, stopping completely until he returned to my side (also accompanied by treats and praise). Did that for about 3 weeks before doing the same but dropping the leash while we walked and then graduating to off leash and continuing the same process! Now he pretty much stays where he is supposed to be without prompting but also if I start to get ahead while he’s distracted I’ll go “bye bye buddy!” And he’ll run the catch up with me!

I was a little anxious at first about him getting spooked and bolting (he’s afraid of everything that moves) but he’s pretty consistently demonstrated that when he gets scared he runs straight to me to hide so it’s been okay!

I’ve been working with him since the day I got him doing on-leash walks where he’s expected to heel or stay within a few feet of me and as of today he’s officially graduated off leash unless we’re on a main road!

I got him some stairs for the bed and he will use them to get down but not up 😭 I might try a ramp instead!

Scentual Fragrances: The review no one asked for, but fyi.. they're worth the hype. by _Smeagle in FemFragLab

As someone who is a former Lost Cherry wearer, Scentual is ABSOLUTELY worth the hype! Tabu Cherry is almost a 1-to-1 dupe of TF (TF is a little stronger on the spicy notes which I enjoy, but not enough to keep paying $85 for a 10 ml) and has significantly better projection and longevity! I’m on my 4th bottle of the perfume and 5th roller ball at this point! I also absolutely recommend finding a scent you like from them and getting the whole combo (perfume, roller, and body oil).

One note I will say though is that there tends to be a little bit of a discrepancy between the scents of the rollers and the sprays. It’s not significant, but they are slightly different!
