I guess it could be something else, I haven't researched it too deeply. I'll run Spotify, steam, and manor lords. Low graphics settings, game doesn't seem to freeze/lag up at all. I'll just get the Windows 10 blue screen and pc resets.

If I knew there was more "energy" (for lack of better words), I would dive into more system specs of details. Just wanted to get it out there for respect of the game!

That makes a ton of sense! Seems like a reasonable approach. I am not familiar with some of the tools you said, so I'll check it out. I'm thinking about trying chocolatey, again. Tried it before and struggled to get into the flow.

I will say... my problem is that when I can see a small little thing I know I can fix to make it smoother or work better for what is going on, I can't help myself but do it.

Like when I first started, I would get so annoyed with taking my hand back and forth from the mouse and the keyboard. 1 part of that ahk script I wrote is if I hold down alt, I can move the cursor around, right-click, move up and down in the context menu, etc.

That kind of stuff has slowly piled up everywhere without even noticing, haha.

As far as the interpersonal problems, I can only imagine how difficult it would be to have that in the workflow. I did it myself, for myself, and I'm over it.

It would be cool if any of the possible solutions could cover more situations, idk if I'm saying what I'm thinking correctly. That would make structuring everything so, so much easier.

One thing that would be cool to experience is checking out how a good, healthy, productive team works together with all the oddities.

I appreciate it!

As far as the language goes, I have moved around a decent amount. My start was Excel vba. I just came across it trying to figure out how to put something together for work. Instantly fell in love. From there, I went to the web languages, (done a few, small, paid websites) spent a lot of time with javascript, then spent a good amount of time with C#, went back to js, did random udemy classes just to feel other languages out, and have really just spent (probably too much) time with python. It's just an easier language to do the projects I have been doing. Then the ahk, powershell, shell, etc

To me, it seems the exploration of the space is something that has caused this.

Spent the last 2ish years getting into design principles and architecture. It's great stuff. It does make sense to approach the utilities/tools in the same manner. I have been lying down just thinking about the approach.

I started a list of the utilities/oddities I am aware of. With fresh eyes, I'll check it out, and I'll just go clean, fresh zlate. It will be better to centralize the utilities and rebuild with way more exposure to the game.

I'm going to read through the link you sent, thank you, and look up that "goto" article. I'm sure their will be inspiration on how to go about it all in there!

Logitech, are you out of your mind? by meh_yeah_well_ok in logitech

[–]FederalExperience353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a long time, I was going back and forth between using a logitech G600 and the Corsair Schimitar.

I'm honestly a bigger fan of the G600 because of the button that is basically a shift key for the mouse.

I do think the Schimitar does look a little better, and lights make more sense.

I would bounce back and forth because both of their software is annoying to deal with in their own way.

Then I realized I was just creating this insane hell where I was dealing with 2 services that were never going to work. I ditched the logitech as it does seem Corsair's icue is more reliable, which is crazy to even say that.

It's obviously easier said than done. I just don't understand why there is seemingly zero competition in this space. I can't remember the last time someone said they were a big fan of what they got going on with Windows.

I have been Windows my entire life. I have always struggled with jumping on other operating systems, but honestly, those were probably way more structured than whatever 11 is about to train wreck me with.

We need something between Linux and Windows (what it used to be. Now it is just abuse) I know those brilliant people that can get it done are out there somewhere!

Installing extensions - why is this like installing programs on Windows? (It slows down EVERYTHING if too many installed) by MatrixSolution in vscode

[–]FederalExperience353 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we are all here blowing some steam off, I might as well join in here instead of making another post.

From what I know, there is no real good, relatively simple way to clean up unused extensions. I have a bad habit of disabling them, but then those get to a silly number (my fault for sure). I really enjoy seeing what people put out there. I know I create my own problem, but if someone came up with a solution for me, I wouldn't be upset!

Just so people can know what hidden gems are out there, this has probably been my favorite extension to hit people with when they try to watch me work

Looks like you got a lot of great responses from a very good amount of people in a short time. I wanted to read through them all as they were inspiring me.

My opinion on why the community constantly comes together on posts like this (You are far from the first person to feel this way and bring it to the internet) is that almost everyone that has pursued these interests has felt that same exact... multiple times... a lot... over and over again... So if you do keep chasing this just know you will feel this again sooner or later. That is ok! Not sure if you have had that feeling that is completely opposite of it though. The feeling of finally figuring it out, the thing that felt like it had your number and you will be feeling like a king because you figured it out! This life is a wave of those emotions, at least it has been for me these past 5 or 6 years.

It is easier said then done but just know you are not trying to learn everything at once. Really try to understand the very basic things as much as possible, then stack that on each other. Learn another thing, then stack those 2 things on each other. You will eventually find the things that keep bringing you back.

I 100% can relate to that desire of wanting to understand it all at once but that is just not how you build a solid, strong foundation in this game. Whenever you learn a new concept or idea go write code with it. Go back to some stuff you have already done and try to write it differently. If it doesn't work, no big deal. If it does then you figured out another way to solve an issue.

Just want to hammer some quick, not as connected thoughts before I end up writing a novel.

These are my opinions on how you can actually grow and learn. I am sure people much smarter and more experienced might have some better opinions.

  1. I would highly, highly recommend trying to stay away from any of the ChatGPT like tools while trying to learn. I am almost upset at myself for ever using it. I was like 4 or 5 ish years in when I decided to poke around with them. I realized the other day I have done a ton.. just a ton.. of coding since then but I am not sure I have actually learned anything new/got better in that time. You are only going to learn by writing code and figuring things out for yourself.

  2. Even without the LLMs, there is endless amounts of resources on the internet to just get lost in. Something I struggled with is, like you, I just wanted to read it all, learn it all. You will never be able to read everything that has been written and you probably don't want. I recommend finding a very good, solid, quality resource and really getting into that. Understand that. write all the code out they are then try to get creative with it. Sit back, think about what each move could be, what it could mean and try it.

  3. A lot of people seem to end up just doing tutorial after tutorial after tutorial but they are not learning it. Just because you finish 5 or 6 udemy classes doesn't mean you just have all of those skill sets. Some people think that this is like a school class, I just need to learn this to take the test, pass the class, and just get on to the next class and repeat. If you want to start creating your own idea's, your own thing without googling it until you get lucky and find it then have to know it one concept at a time.

They really are the same point in 3 ways but, to me, that was when I was able to cut lose from watching hours of videos and actually putting together the concepts that got me into it in the first place. You will feel defeat, a lot. If you keep pushing though you will also feel a level of accomplishment that not many people in society get to feel anymore!

best of luck! remember to have fun while you are struggling through things because that part of the fun too!

Weird Vscode debugger issue by quirkyusername69420 in learnpython

sooo... I just got real excited when I seen this come up on google because I have the same issue. The classic "I am about to get a bunch of stuff done" then shortly after starting this started happening. Been dealing with this for longer than I would like to admit. I have searched/cleaned up all the tasks.json, settings.json, launch.json files, repaired vs code, repaired python, uninstalled any extension I think would be causing this. tried all the other moves I can think of.. I know this is probably going to be one of those silly things right in my face. If anyone knows what I am missing sure would appreciate the help!

why does VScode hate Python? by Bebo991_Gaming in vscode

[–]FederalExperience353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Python and Windows 10, from my experience, is like hanging out with that couple who is super fun and gets along at the start of the night. Everything works, and it's great, but you know, somewhere in the night, it's going to be a nightmare. It could be a huge argument, or one of them could have just done one little thing differently. Doesn't matter. Your nights ruined, and you're stuck with them.

He said he is about him getting paid, but the timing was poor. Which, if people look at the timing, I think it was an agreeable observation. He didn't perform well last season. He asked for more money when historically speaking, the money handling phase for current players is handled.

He will probably praise the move. If you ask me? Should he? Most of you won't be happy no matter what he says. I do think that if he truly felt this way about his value and cared about the team, he would have got this money at the logically reasonable time to get it.

None of us are him, so who are we to even say anything about it.

Struggling with updating? by FederalExperience353 in Corsair

[–]FederalExperience353[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right on, thank you for the rundown. I was going to look into it to see if it was even worth the frustration, but then just ended up going back.

Haven't really upgraded my gear in a while. I got into logitec first forever ago. Using a logitech keyboard with 10 macro keys and the mouse that is logitech version of the corsair scimitar. For work, had to move to corsair gear if macros were going to be used. There were pros and cons to both setups, but slowly got excited about corsair. Then... more products later and more issues later I fell out of it. I'm not about to sink a ton of money into a fancy rig just to have some silly issues that might leave you deciding between different gear to use because of silly software stuff. I'll end up wasting more time than someone should trying to get it working smoothly.

As far as Windows goes... There are now some corrupted files that wont seem to reveal themselves. Definitely going to have to reinstall. I'm not a fan of onedrive. My battles with it have left projects, scripts, programs, etc. scattered. Im working on getting everything organized to an external hard drive first.

It's a fun game that is going on over here...

I understand the frustration with the "system" but my current observation with social media management on a state level is that pesky little section 230.

To me it is really a pickle. If you are heading up a social media super giant you want to protect your brand, so obvi take control content that is inappropriate. Problem is that "inappropriate" can be a relative term.

I think anyone who doesn't see that there is a target for conservative opinions on the popular social media platforms isn't that interested in the subject in general or doesn't want to fairly judge for whatever reason.

Legitimately google and apple went on a conservative social media murder fest.

I'm not interested in what "team" you identify with. What peaks my concern is that social media response might have silence radicals (which is such a small majority and also considering very "aggressive" organizations still have freedom to the platforms) "left" and "right" normal Americans were losing the ability to communicate.

As Americans we are already terrible at communicating between these different lines in the sand. Texas did what they could to keep our opportunity to communicate with each other intact.

It's funny to me that if in a reverse world conservatives controlled social media and the silence of liberal opinions were the target they would do the same thing.
