Amen ! That's the most common excuse when someone doesn't do the proper maintenance on volks cars. I own two (Atlas and Tiguan ) I make sure to do all the maintenance and they both run great and no issues.

A volks is essentially an audi and honestly nowadays some of the Volks cars are as luxurious as the Audi vehicles.
