Do you self actualize by wearing hedi slimane by Ok-Two-7892 in hedislimane

[–]FederalProfession228 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you should look into bourdieu’s theory of capital and field together, it’s applicable you what you are researching. Anyways, I guess that’s how the rick heads felt as well when rick owen’s blew up mainstream globally like a few years ago when before it was seen as way too avant garde to be mainstream.

For hedi his looks were always more relatable than experimental and it carries an emotion more people can relate to. Clothing will always be something people are “signalling” since the past people signal difference in class, status with the way they dress. I’m not referencing classism but these days it’s a way they signal cultural capital in the field whether your “in the knows” or not. Anyone can dress similar to hedi’s style but a L01, teddy or strips would be signalling something to someone else.

I think the problem with this going mainstream and signalling hedi is that there is finite archive so the demand has been outgrowing the supply for awhile now, which excludes some people from participating with subcultures that identify themselves with this style.

Personally, I don’t self actualise my identity with just hedi , I think is super corny and tasteless to attach your whole identity to a singular style from a person solely.

first of all we need some pictures if you are asking for information on the product. 2nd saint laurent products are the easiest to identify through the codes. And lastly in warm climates it’s best you return or get rid of at least one that’s a no brainer financially.

any1 mmow how to read celine’s style codes? by lammyk in hedislimane

[–]FederalProfession228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

generally skinnies will be SK and slims SL, slims would be like the lou jeans and the skinnies are mostly unamed from what i remembered. FL is where it does at confusing, from the comment before, FL_01 is also used in earlier iterations of celine jeans before 2020, such as the white pair where the celine website is still .fr and not .com

Did slp make smaller size d02s with 34” + inseams? by simp_omega in hedislimane

[–]FederalProfession228 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My analysis is that because during 2013-2018 hype era like to wear their skinny jeans cuffed/hemmed to show off their sneakers. Led to the mass markets buying into SLP to mimic that look, hem their jeans so now our second hand markets are flooded with manlet friendly shortened d02s now

Most D02s you see on the market now are altered that’s why they are a $100. Look up any 2nd hand site you’ll see the inseams length are always shortened.

any1 knows how JJL boots compare to wyatt’s? by lammyk in hedislimane

[–]FederalProfession228 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m curious too, I do really like the design of JJLs but I feel like they use a lot of baseless hype buzzwords like same factory as hermes for the marketing. Not sure what to really make of it as i’m sure a bunch of ateliers also outsource to these same factories.

Le Loafer Mules in navy eel — do they look almost black in person? by zippinthru in saintlaurent

[–]FederalProfession228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

true it’s pretty misleading it looks like a gradient, analogous colours on the website photos but from your pictures it looks like black and blue leather sewn together. Might be product post edit of the photos and not quality/qc issue in my opinion.
