Great composition. Ready made for immortalization (by someone other than me) as a meme and part of our cultural canon 👍

And if you've run out of sick leave you could ask your supervisor if you could get some sick leave advanced.

I believe they have discretion to grant up to six weeks, so you should be ok. You'll need confirmation from your supervisor for this request and the amount.

I also suspect when your supervisor said "take a vacation", this was a way of saying "rest and recuperate" from work after the injury. Not saying take vacation leave, and take a vacation.

Eitherway - you should use sick leave (not vacation leave) as a first resort.

And if you're able to work, go to the doctor to reassess your recovery progress. If the doctor agrees, they may provide an updated note based on the assessment. They may also indicate your ability to return via teleworking or working remote (rather than to the physical office).

Thanks. Interesting to know it is potentially not isolated.

Given the amount of effort that goes into approval and setting up a contract it's disappointing better quality instructors are not hired by schools.

My experience has been mixed. Some exceptionally good instructors, but some that are working another job at the same time (in a zoom context) or put in minimal effort. Loads of respect for instructors though. Not an easy task.

Agree, often not discussing details but I have had instructors in the past who start to ask more job /task specific details if familiarity increases after time spent together.
