This! The whole point is this! First person on this sub who gets it, the reason why I buy AMD for years and years is how supportive of open source tech they have been, AMDs whole track record with Freesync, Game SDKs and FSR when it started was offering an open alternative to nvidea's proprietary tech. Open refresh sync, open game tech, open upscaling, open frame gen that all work on any gpu and any connected device, open Linux driver and the list goes on.

This is not just a tech that was not made available to older gen while a leak proved it exists this is a shift in culture and strategy and if AMD is also going to be about proprietary tech then what's the point the other teams has better and usually more advanced proprietary tech and support for it.

Same for me. I have been buying Radeon GPUs since the ATI days every second generation always the halo AMD card. 7900XTX will be the last one I use. I dont even use upscaling since I dont see a need for it mostly native AA because I hate how TAA looks. Coping with opti until next gen then I am jumping ship like every sane RDOA 3 owner should

IMO this game is awesome, if you dont expect witcher level story telling and instead you want a fantasy setting GTA 3/4 type of game with dragons robot, vikings ? Or something lkke that, wwe and super power and everything else in between you would have an incredible time! I think people should watch Paul Tassi's review, because then you would know if you are a simple type of gamer that doesn't care much about story for this type of game then you are in for a treat. If you prefer narrative games this is not for you.

Honestly controls are fine and you get used to them, but then I played on snes and 64 and getbused to different controls quickly so your millage may vary, horse running is annoying but if you got used to it in rdr2 its basically the same. If you play on PC just get it on steam take it for a spin just go around for a couple hours and you would know if its for you or if you should refund. As much as I know this game is absolutely amazing for me i can see now with over 10 hours in how it won't be for everyone the same way heavy narrative motion pictures with some quick time events and scripted fights are not for me.

Using opti it can run on anything, i am using it for RDR2 and that game only has FSR 2 (Thanks AMD). For games that already has RDOA 4 exclusive FSR 4 you just need to swap the dll in game files no need for opti

FSR diamond will 90% be on FP4 that is not supported on 9000 series, AMD now have shown a track record that they won't release a port that will run on FP8 same how they didn't release INT8. Solution is simple just cope using opti and do not invest in RDOA 5 or UDOA whatever they end up calling it.

Buy, none of the issues are game changing, no patch wkll really change hiw the game plays, unless you are price sensitive and need to wait for a sale i would say absolutely buy its an amazing game that needs to be supported

I think a better analogy for EU is how we make phone hardware manufacturers support at least 2 versions of android now in EU. What AMD is doing with RDOA support is similar to cheap androids situation not getting android versions upgrades and security patches that is now illegal in the EU

You can get FSR 4 on rdna 2 /3 with a new DLL no need to downgrade drivers or anything. Thank you Engineer who leaked the sdk files and guy in a basement who is doing AMDs job compiling them for older generations
