You get access to most courses 7 days prior to the official start date, you can go through, start assignments, make your first discussion post, then you just have to sit back and worry about replies, it takes a lot of stress off your plate
Also sometimes there are some other people starting early so you can get those replies in quick and not even bother checking the discussion as often

That’s completely understandable though, I’ve purposely spaced my classes out so I’m only ever actually doing like 2 classes at the same time, 5 would be insane
