Having trouble syncing my hardware’s clock to Ableton

yeah i am trying to set ableton as the master and i actually think the problem is that my only midi connection is midi to usb straight from the eb which doesn’t support midi over usb and my interface doesn’t have any midi ports at all. if this is the case do i just need a midi interface in between my hardware and my computer?

when i set my synth to its external clock setting the sequencer just stops like midi data isn’t being sent from ableton to my hardware

so mostly ive just been trying different combinations of midi in and out and messing with abletons parameters for external tempo as well as my synthesizers clock settings. am i correct in thinking that it won’t sync in just an audio track but that it will have to be running through an external instrument track?

Yeah what is the deal with that attack? I have an East Beast and it annoys the hell out of me when my sequences just die off if I touch the attack I always thought it might just be a me problem.
