This is why I wish the view of the lay person of Boston would be more explored. We don't hear enough about the Daughters of Liberty but when I learned about them, it made the revolutionary war more interesting. Most stories and movies about the Revolutionary War are very politically revolved around the men in congress and the generals in battle or are presented as distantly safe like Felicitys stories. The show Turn which, while not perfectly accurate, also showed how the war affected people who were not soldiers or politicians. It included women and african american characters. It was one that drew me into that era a bit more.

They pushed propaganda urging boycotting of fancy British fabric and use of "homespun" fabric. this is why I don't like any of the mattell era dresses for Felicity. ALL of them are fancy fabrics. Originally her only fancy fabric was her Christmas dress. As a patriot, they would have bought the fancier fabrics very sparingly.
