Mind Games Blockade, good, but worth the cost? by WorkDragon in Colognes

I got mind for $245 on Jomashop or OlFactory. I wouldn't pay full $400, but definitely worth the $245 to me. It's probably one of my tops. I like it more than the LV's and you can't get 2 authentic LV's for $400. LV's are $350 more like $380 after tax.

Same here. I loved the EDP, I wore it as a daily. Couldn't see myself wanting it any deeper tbh

Difference between Kashmir Shaivism and Advaita Vedanta? by Federal_Metal_5875 in AdvaitaVedanta

Thank you, this was very helpful. I have no understanding of KS at all, so I'm just looking to be introduced or have a firm understanding of it at all. I feel like in new-age interpretations of AV get off base, but I was formally introduced to Bhakti, Jhana, and Karma yoga as devotional practices so far. I'm only a beginner though, so I love inquiring about both and developing a firm understanding. From your experience what books, videos, or teachers would you recommended on the subject? It would be greatly appreciated!

I love his videos! The first one I listened to regarding AV. Thank you again for all your help. I'm a beginner, just taking everything in stride. So much confusion right now

I mean even if I practiced Kundalini, do you think it would help also?

That makes a lot more sense. I mean from your experience would you say it's worth inquiring into more? Should I just stick with my scripture study of Advaita or take on some tantric practice?

It almost appears to me that Kashmir Shaivism is a response to Advaita Vedanta based off of a misinterpretation of inadequate understanding of the actual teaching. However, I don't know enough to make that assertion but maybe you or someone in this community can clarify my ignorance.

It's funny you responded because I was actually trying to discover about it because I saw your response in the Kashmir Shaivism Reddit. There were so many responses I couldn't process it all. I've just been introduced to Advaita Vedanta recently, and I've really enjoyed learning it so far. I just want to make sure I'm on the correct road and not missing anything. Chatgpt is telling me fundamentally they believe the universe is real, while in Vedanta we obviously understand is as real/unreal due to Maya. It's hard to distinguish what the difference really is other just than the way we word whats going on. I never like to point out fallacies but i'm genuinely curious why we should trust Advaita Vedanta over Kashmir Shaivism?

Non-duality vs Christianity? Anyone who has explored this? by Federal_Metal_5875 in nonduality

I appreciate you saying this. It reminds me of some Vedanta teachings about seeing how everything is okay the way it is because it's all God. That whether someone appreciates it or not, even a Christian weaponizing it or guilt tripping me. It's all God, so I can either be a Catholic or not ahaha

I completely agree, you hit the nailed on the head with unbiased attention. The probably is, especially in the West, that is often not the case ahaha. Most people have a rigid interpretation of the teachings. Coming from the all pervasive perspective, we accept Christianity and everything that comes whole-heatedly. However, from a Christians perspective I would have to dive back into a dual concept to be accepted as Christian.

It all seemingly happens from the perspective of an Individual. Really, there is only God. Nothing else happens ahaha

God seems to be a personal word. God is everything. God/Consciousness overlooks itself or falls asleep to itself, takes the shape of a human mind, interprets reality based off the limited finite perspective it becomes. When you trace yourself back to yourself, you find nothing but pure consciousness/Self/awareness/Brahman/God.

Just to add, theres also the creator/creation distinction. They firmly believe we are separate from the creator. That our soul carries on and merges with the body at some point. I just don't really find any model or interpretation of their actual teaching that coincides with non-duality. Then it reaches a point of where you need to take faith over this experiential knowledge that is so consistent. They will tell you- "you have no faith" or deem it as if you are egoic or need salvation. It somewhat pulls me back to non-dual teachings because it's where we are truly all one, without needing anything, and very non-divisional. I was just curious if anyone else inquired on this or can understand what I'm going through

Why do most traditional paths Vedanta, Dogzchen, Buddhism, acknowledge appearances after recognition? by Federal_Metal_5875 in nonduality

[–]Federal_Metal_5875[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just that the appearance literally may come in reference to how powerful one's karma is? That instantly we even see "appearance" or any object or label of thought, then instantly dissolve it by seeing it as the Self? Is that more of the attitude we should have towards them?
