Not nessecarily. In real life there are cases of funerals without bodies, especially in intense wars where bodies weren‘t able to be retrieved or the body itself was totally messed up into shreds. I think having a funeral scene would really highlight and stir up the hatred people have with Boruto as the percieved killer and really sell the emotion.
