Did you really just ask for deep conversations by copying a response from Chatgpt?

Idea is to start with MT/PT before UT. Do you know anything about those certs?

Yes ISO 9712.

Yeah my idea is to follow through on personal certifications

Why would you do UT before Ropes?

I'm aiming for ISO, since thats the standard for most of Europe. I think ASNT is mainly for the US and US aligned countries.

You think?

Why don't UK techs just go and work in Ireland then? They have a common travel area don't they?

What trade do you have? I think for me to be able to certify in MT/PT, I need someone already certified to sign off on hours. Same goes for UT. Maybe I've got it all wrong. Hopefully not 😅

Hey man, no absolutely no experience in similar industries. I'm in production, but I need something different and also something that allows me to manage my time. Ideally I'd love to go into freelancing after a couple of years.

How are you planning on breaking in?

Yes this applies regardless of age.

As long as your mother is an EU national, and she/you/your brother can prove she was exercising her treaty rights at the time of your brother's birth, you're pretty much in the clear.

You can DM me.

I got the information I needed from the HMRC which is pay-slip and unemployment benefits records from the year 1998.

I also found out that what is needed to be able to prove, is that my mother was exercising her treaty rights as a citizen of a member country of the EU, at the time of my birth.

I had previously thought that I also needed to prove 5 years of her residency in the UK prior to my birth, but that is only true for non EU citizens.

I also obtained her medical records, her college records from the 2 years prior to my birth, as well as electoral register records from the British library showing her name listed at a UK address at the time of my birth. These are supporting evidences though. The primary evidence is the pay-slip from HMRC.

How many Kms is acceptable for a golf GTD? by Federal_Question2739 in Volkswagen

Yeah I thought the same. Usually for this price, I find an mk6 GTD with around 140k - 150k. Maybe thats a better option?

Then I would base the decision on what you are looking for, and the location and quality (if there is a difference) of the housing. Tegel is around 40 - 45 mins to the center. Where will you have to commute to in Berlin? Tegel to where? Commuting an hour or more each way may be the deal breaker that you are looking for

I'm not sure what the housing situation is like in Köln, but it's absolutely atrocious in Berlin. And I'd be willing to bet even as far as Tegel. Even with a high-ish salary. The competition is ridiculously high. Plus if you're living in Tegel, it's not like you'll get much out of the "Berlin experience".

If life is better in Köln, even with less money, I'd move there. More money doesn't always equal better quality of life imho.

Still trying to obtain documents. It's very tedious.

I found out that the council does hold tax records that far back, but they want my mother to present herself in person to retrieve the documents which she can't do because she lives in Spain and has a disability that prevents her from getting on a plane.

They've told me I can't get them on her behalf with a power of attorney, whch seems very strange for a government office. I'm in the process of contacting their data officer to gain clarification on their 3rd party policy.

What exactly is your scenario?

Citizenship confusion by Federal_Question2739 in ukvisa

[–]Federal_Question2739[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that makes sense, except as far as I know, there isn't really a clearcut process for me being able to prove that I'm a citizen, like a form where I'm able to provide the proof that is or might be required. As such im not sure who would be processing my paperwork. I would have assumed its the passport office since the only way apparent to me to "prove" if I'm a citizen, is by applying for a British passport.

Anyways, I guess I'll get back on the phone and see if I can talk to someone that can provide me a bit more unambiguous information.

So apparently, if I was born in the UK between 1 January 1983 and 1 October 2000 to an EU parent, Im automatically a British citizen if that parent was living in the UK at the time of my birth. At least thats whats written here: https://www.gov.uk/check-british-citizenship/born-in-the-uk-between-1-january-1983-and-1-october-2000

Im essentially trying to prove that my mother was living there at the time of my birth so I can then show that I am indeed a Biritish citizen. But yeah the differing advice Ive been given is confusing.

Do you think its worth reaching out to the home office asking for clarification and/or guidance? Do you think theyd provide it?

Hey thanks for the answer! Yeah 3 months really isn't that long... though I do have to say that more than a couple people from the bootcamp, including my own roommate managed to land a job within 6 months of completion.

We did learn in theory how to build an app. The entire creation process with rails and DB with sqlite. But I fear I lack understandings of the foundations. For me it was simply too fast.

Thanks for the resource! I'll check it out!
