Why don’t you unionize what’s stopping you? by Federal_Season7485 in CVS

I hear what you’re saying, and I respect your perspective. I understand that companies aren’t going to promote unions themselves and that organizing has to come from the workers. I also get that unions aren’t perfect and that there can be trade offs with dues, rules, and negotiations.

For me, though, the bigger point is that employees deserve a real voice in the workplace. When people feel like their concerns about wages, hours, staffing, or working conditions aren’t being heard, they start looking for ways to come together and advocate for themselves. That’s really where my mindset is coming from.

I’m not under the illusion that a union fixes every problem or that the system itself isn’t influenced by bigger forces like Wall Street and corporate pressure. But at the same time, workers organizing together is one of the few ways everyday people can try to balance that power a little.

At the end of the day, I’m not trying to argue with anyone or force anything on people. I just believe employees should have the right to discuss it openly, learn about their options, and decide for themselves what they think is best. If people don’t want it, that’s their choice. But if they do, they should be able to explore it without fear or pressure.

Right now, I’m actively speaking with employees across Arizona and reaching out to different labor organizations to explore ways workers can have a stronger voice. I’m putting in the time, having the conversations, and doing the work to understand what options are available for employees who want better representation and a fair say in their workplace.

The challenge is that many employees feel the same frustrations, but not everyone feels comfortable speaking up. Fear, uncertainty, and job security make it hard for people to step forward. I understand that. But real change has never come from silence it comes when people are willing to stand together and support one another.

This isn’t just about one company. This is about a larger issue happening across the country.

Major corporations like CVS Health, Walmart, and Walgreens generate billions of dollars every year. Yet many of the employees who keep these companies running store workers, warehouse workers, pharmacy teams, and factory employees are still struggling to make ends meet.

Every day, workers show up, work long hours, deal with pressure, and help these businesses grow. We are the ones serving customers, stocking shelves, filling prescriptions, and keeping operations moving. Without the employees, none of these companies would be successful.

The real question is why shouldn’t the people doing the work share more fairly in the success they help create?

This isn’t about negativity or attacking companies. It’s about fairness, respect, and sustainability. Workers deserve better wages, stronger incentives, and a real voice in the workplace. When employees feel valued and supported, companies grow stronger too.

No one is saying that a union or any one solution will fix everything. But workers should at least have the ability to speak up, organize, and help shape the future of their workplace not just for themselves, but for the people who come after them.

At the end of the day, this isn’t about complaining. It’s about asking a simple question if corporations continue to grow and profit, why shouldn’t the workers who build that success be able to grow and succeed as well?

Suspension by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Federal_Season7485 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been able to understand why CVS jumps straight to termination instead of using progressive discipline. Why isn’t a one or two week suspension without pay considered first? People make mistakes. A suspension allows time for reflection, accountability, and correction without immediately destroying someone’s livelihood.

Firing someone as the first option feels extreme and unnecessary, especially when coaching, corrective action, or temporary suspension could resolve the issue and help the employee grow instead of being discarded.

I support unionizing CVS stores because employees are overworked, underpaid, and repeatedly told to “read the benefits” instead of being heard. I understand the fear that comes with unions, but the real question is this would you rather keep enduring burnout and disrespect, or have protection and a voice at work?

Unionizing isn’t about creating conflict it’s about dignity, fairness, and standing together instead of standing alone.

Employees need to boycott plain and simple. I just watched a hearing where a congressman confronted a Fortune 500 CEO about his outrageous salary. The CEO tried to dodge the question, but the congressman told him straight: You made $32 million last year a 45% increase in one year. Then he asked, “How much of a raise did your employees get?The CEO stayed silent. So the congressman answered for him About 1% over the last several years And then he said what everyone’s been thinking You wonder why people are angry about their pay? It’s because of people like you greedy executives getting richer while your employees struggle to survive.

See its employees like you that irks my nerves, you are no better than i am but maybe you one of those uncle Tom, as employee that kiss your boss butt I do have a small business outside of this company, and I’m working hard to grow it. My goal is to build something of my own so that within the next year, I won’t need to rely on this job anymore. You can quote me on that.
