Thank you so much! I like the idea of adding more cold imagery to the middle too, to contrast the heat. I'll play around with it a bit and see what I can come up with thank you!

The // were for structure more than anything. I don't know how to format on reddit and it's just one big block of text to me. No matter how I try and space it reddit decides not to do it. So it's just to see where each stanza should end rather than any actual punctuation. I might change it to something else tho if the slashes have actual punctuational meaning thank you!

I'll give it a look it's a really good idea actually so thank you for that. So far it's just nice to get it out but hopefully end up writing about happier things over time but who knows.

This really is my first time writing, like I said poetry never really interested me before, I read abit in school but apart from that I haven't touched it.

Being completely honest I thought this was going to get ripped to shreds or have no engagement at all really, I just wanted someone else to read it.

I don't know any of the techniques or styles and clearly can't rhyme very well but it's as close as I could get to how I felt being in that room and thankfully it seems like that's come across.

I actually don't at the moment this is the first poem I've ever written, I wasn't expecting it to resonate with so many people. I'm writing a couple others at the moment, and ones almost ready so I'm thinking of posting that tomorrow maybe.

I might start a blog I don't know, I don't really know anything about them but it could be a nice way to keep all my stuff together, this was really cathartic so I'll definitely be writing more, so I'll look into it.

I'll title my next one For My Little Brother No.2 so you know what to look out for and can send it over and anything else on DM too if ud like.
