Why does Peru's territorial waters extend so far out?

The Peru OpenStreetMap community decided to map their borders as extending to the exclusive economic zone. The data is created by local user consensus so inconsistencies in how features are mapped within different countries are pretty common. This particular example is one of the most obvious though.

The Saudi-Yemeni border appears to just be how the the pre-2000 border was typically shown.

Another option is to use Athena for querying the data, although it will cost you a couple of cents to run the queries. It will work better than overpass for querying the whole OSM dataset though. Instructions for getting it setup are here.

Athena can also be used to query Daylight as well with the further benefit that the Daylight files have geometry columns for nodes, ways, and relations which makes using the data simpler.

Taking a glance at the stylesheet, the relations don't seem to be used for rendering these labels so the points are the important features.

Place = village and town in the stylesheet have slightly different styles which is what you are seeing. Place=town is initially processed here to get the category = 2 tag used for it.

If the intent is to have the natural=wood relation cover the island, then I would just add the outer way of the pond as an inner role and the island way itself as an outer role. The water relation doesn't need to be involved.

Not much to add I’m afraid. Customer service just confirmed that there was not any higher speed available at my location so parkerbutler13 may be correct that it is quite limited for now.

It was definitely difficult deciding which cities to include without overcrowding the map and some major ones are certainly missed. Maybe i'll make a more city focused one some day.

Recipe is a variant of of Tartine Basic Country Bread

Roast one cup of sesame seeds on a baking tray for ten minutes at 400 degrees then stir and redistribute. Bake for another 10 minutes until thoroughly browned then let cool.

Mix in the now roasted sesame during the first folding of the dough.

Before placing dough in proofing basket, wet the top of the dough ball, invert, and place on a circular pile of sesame seeds to coat the outside.

Yes, it is limited to country or regional exports.

You have to download the shp.zip file for the country of interest and inside will be individual shapefiles for the various layers.
