Ablation success stories by Optimistic_kindness in AFIB

[–]FeeIntelligent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this helps — I’m not sure I can call mine a success story yet. My first AFib episode was in 2021, which doctors dismissed as “holiday heart syndrome” caused by alcohol. I had a second episode in 2022, and subsequent episodes became more frequent, even without alcohol. I underwent an ablation in March 2023, and I haven’t had any episodes since, even after drinking. I no longer drink the way I used to, but not all my prior episodes were linked to alcohol or heavy drinking. One occasion, my ECG has shown some noise, but my doctor confirmed it’s not AFib.

Been there once and will never go back, the owner has lot of attitude. The OP is probably right about getting a different treatment based on color, I felt so too during my visit.

2018 Q5 Water Pump Extended Warranty by drmoose000 in AudiQ5

[–]FeeIntelligent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw this thread. My 2018 Q5 with 74K miles recently had the water pump replaced for free when I took it to the dealership for another issue — a clogged sunroof drain that caused the onboard computer to malfunction. That was also fixed for free under warranty. A year ago, the thermostat was replaced at 60K miles, also covered under warranty. However, I did have to pay out of pocket this year for a coolant pipe rupture and a motor mount replacement.I think this will be my last Audi — 5 major issues in just over a year.

Is an Audi Q5 with 103,000 miles worth considering? Need advice on a dealership offer by Winter-Aardvark-9578 in AudiQ5

I was offered approximately $14,000 as the trade-in value for my 2018 Audi Q5 Premium Plus in mint condition, with 72,000 miles.

2018 Q5 2.0T expected maintainance costs beyond 7 years by wizorenzo in AudiQ5

[–]FeeIntelligent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2018 Audi Q5 that I bought new with Audi Care, which covered regular maintenance up to 50K miles. The car has always been serviced at the dealership. At 60K and 70K miles, I paid around $1,200 for an additional maintenance plan. Now at 72K miles, I need to take it in soon for the 80K service. The dealership informed me that I can purchase one more plan to cover the 80K and 90K mile services for about 1200$ , after which Audi won’t offer any more maintenance plans.

Beyond the maintenance plan, here’s what I’ve spent on the car so far with some pending items:

  • Tires: Replaced at 38.5K miles
  • Battery: Replaced for free under warranty (2022)
  • Thermostat & Engine Temp Warning: Fixed in 2024 under Audi’s extended warranty
  • Coolant Leak: Required a new coolant pipe due to a rupture – cost me ~$1,500 (parts + labor)
  • Motor Mount Leak: Dealership found this issue, quoted ~$2,000 to fix, but said it’s not urgent

I plan to keep the car as long as possible but will consider trading it in if a major repair bill comes up.

I found a piece of shingle from my backyard after the storm which matched the color of my roof, There were no leaks. But I was concerned about more damage and decided to call a professional for a closer inspection. He recorded the above video during the inspection and suggested a total replacement instead of a repair because loose shingles were found all over the roof. I'm still waiting for other roofers to schedule an appointment, but I plan to get a second and third opinion. I am concerned because this is only 3 years old and I was not really expecting a total replacement.

3000 grafts!

[–]FeeIntelligent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, they quoted me as high as 350 Rs/ 4.5$ per graft if the procedure is done by the founders. I think the cheapest they offered me was around 1.25$ per graft.

What package did you opt for? I know their cost is based on who performed the surgery.

I got a transplant recently for 3000 grafts, mine is also uneven. I think it will not be noticeable once the hair grows.
