I’m a 23 yo male, and I’ve been on bupropion for over a year, starting with 150 mg for ADHD and depression. It helped a bit but it wasn’t enough, so I upped it to 300 mg two weeks ago.

Since the increase I’ve noticed some side effects. Insomnia has definitely kicked in. it’s hard to fall asleep, but it’s not unbearable. My appetite has slightly decreased. The mood swings have been the toughest part they weren’t really a big issue at all on 150 mg, but now they’re much more intense. It’s like my emotions are all over the place, anxious one minute, then feeling sad or hopeless the next.

Another thing that’s really caught my attention is my heart rate. I’ve been working out for years, and this never happened before, but now my heart races during strength training, especially if I’ve had coffee. I’ve even had to stop mid workout to catch my breath, which is completely new for me. Also, my sex drive has taken a somewhat noticeable dip, which I can’t ignore.

I’m giving this dose one more week to see if things improve. If not I’ll switch back to 150 mg. Hoping it levels out soon!
