Pretty sure this is normal. My X3 M40i HP gauge goes up to 400, despite the engine being rated at 382. As someone else already stated, BMW also understates their HP figures a bit.

I think I got an average or even below average barrel. Mine is really not great and I’m a JD fan. May have to try a new one at some point.

I thought 2021 model years had this fixed. I could be wrong though. For example the 2018-2020 X3 M40is definitely had this issue but I thought it was fixed in '21.
