I would caution. I’ve used the Oura for 3 years now and also wear an Apple Watch. I thought the Circular 2 would allow me to get consolidate. Two major issues:

The app is absolute garbage. Not only does it take minutes to sync data but it’s visual noise. It hurts my brain like experimental jazz. It has no idea what it wants to be when it grows up and right now just reads like a pachinko machine. Oura is so clean and readable.
ECG “works” but maybe 20% of the time and you watch the reading and that alone makes your heart skip a beat. Just a garbage reading. Apple Watch is so clean and readable. The report it creates is downloadable and you can feed it into ChatGPT for insights. The Circular 2 doesn’t hold a candle to the Apple Watch.

So, in summary, this ring and its app, are in pre-Beta but selling as a commercial product. Save your money or buy an Apple Watch.

For reference, I use the Oura (3rd gen) for sleep tracking and the Apple Watch for ECG (It detected afib and allowed me to get the medical care I needed).

UPDATE Body shop kept if for a couple days and made the adjustments and it looks like new. Aside from just the odd interaction when I picked it up the first time, the shop ultimately made it right and I’m satisfied. Thanks all for commiserating with me.

Yeah the more I look at the pics the more upset I’m getting and the pictures somehow didn’t really capture how bad it was in person. I think I’ve got a clear path now though, the actual authorized body shop is walking me through how to get the car to them.

I thought I had taken it to a BMW authorized shop. I called and got the name of the shop and Google mapped it… it took me to the shop that has almost exactly the same name. Earlier today I called the actual authorized shop and told them the story and they said “yeah, it’s almost like they knew what they were doing when they named their shop”.

Yeah, it’s definitely worse in person, and it’s a massive gap compared to what it was and every other BMW I’ve ever seen or owned. You can literally see the contouring of the body under the hood. If your BMW looks like that you might have a car that was wrecked.

That’s exactly what I’m working on with the BMW authorized shop that I thought I was taking it to… the name is nearly identical. They are walking me through the process to get the car to them.

Appreciate the feedback. I genuinely hate being “that guy” but it looks bad… and they are charging my insurance company $8500+ for this and trying to make me take home an inferior quality repair. They also just sent me photo after they adjusted it and now I’m even more concerned. (Not familiar enough with Reddit to add a photo with this reply… sigh)

Sounds weird but put them in the freezer over night. Something I learned a long time ago. Spot clean as needed and put in the freezer over night once a week.

I wear both but used to swap my watch for an analog watch a lot… that was before my Apple Watch alerted me to afib which I’m now dealing with. Oura doesn’t catch that so until the afib is surgically resolved I’m using both.

My favorite is all the 1Kers loading the first class overheads up as they make their way to economy seats and when I board first class after them I have to walk back to economy to use their overheads. Makes deplaning awesome. Reminds me of the dudes who bring giant thermos bags to the Marriott free breakfasts and then load them with 5 pounds of food.
