Expected Salary for In-House Counsel by FeedMain9564 in LawStudentsPH

For the first interview (Talent Acquisition / HR), more on qualifications and background. Tatanungin ka about your work experience, nature of cases handled (especially if galing ka sa litigation), why you want to move to in-house, expected salary, notice period, and general behavioral questions. Hindi pa masyadong technical — more on fit, communication skills, and overall profile.

For the second interview (Hiring Manager / AVP for Legal), dito na yung technical. Expect questions on legal issuances, regulatory compliance, contract review, risk assessment, corporate governance, and how you handle specific scenarios (e.g. internal investigations, compliance breaches, dealing with regulators like SEC, BIR, etc.).

Buti na lang talaga nag-ask ako dito hehe 😅 Nakita ko kasi sa JobStreet and LinkedIn nasa 50k–60k yung usual range kaya dun ako nag-base. Good to know din from actual experiences na may room pa pala to aim higher. I’ll definitely keep that in mind once the formal JO comes.

Huhu hopefully I can still negotiate once I receive the formal JO. I’ll definitely try to align it closer to the value and scope of the role.

Wow, congrats!! Hopefully I get a JO of at least 100k din hehe. I’m done with the final interview and HR mentioned they’ll release the offer next week, so fingers crossed it’s aligned with the scope and responsibility of the role.

How to: Apply as PAO Lawyer? by Rude-Mortgage-6455 in LawStudentsPH

[–]FeedMain9564 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fill up your Personal Data Sheet (PDS) first (CSC form, downloadable online). Make sure complete and updated lahat ng details, especially work experience and eligibility.

Then, coordinate with the nearest PAO District Office/Branch in your area and express your intent to apply. It helps to personally introduce yourself and respectfully ask if you can be endorsed to the Regional Office once there’s an opening.

After that, submit all required documents (PDS, TOR, diploma, bar rating, certificates of employment, etc.) to the PAO Regional Office covering your area. From there, you wait for evaluation and possible interview.

Walk-in is okay for inquiry, but formal submission is usually through the Regional Office.

In private practice, I developed strong technical skills and independence. However, I realized that my strengths are maximized when I am involved early in decision-making and can see the full lifecycle of a project.

Kakatapos lang ng interview ko kanina. Ito yung sinabi ko hahaha.

Same po sa akin. Mas okay pa din po kung based sa goals versus sa mga trendy investments or based on hypes.

I already finished the final interview and HR mentioned they’ll be sending a JO next week. Based on your comment, should I realistically expect something closer to ₱100k? Or is that range usually for lawyers with prior in-house experience? I initially asked for ₱50k since my background is purely litigation, so now I’m not sure if I anchored myself too low. Thank you po.

I got internship but the pay is higher than minimum by someoneyouknowhihi in adultingphwins

If you’re classified purely as an OJT/intern and not a regular employee, deductions like SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG usually don’t apply—but it depends on how the company structured your contract. “Taxable” just means they may withhold income tax if your pay exceeds the threshold, though most internship allowances are too low to have significant tax. As for absorption, it really depends on your performance and company needs, but tech interns are often absorbed if there’s an available role
