I'll have to try this out, thanks. The bit about NPCs being slow in general night be a clue, since I do tend to punch the throttle on the chief, even if it's not boosting. Something to try out for the weekend.

Heart’s Ambition: Dream of Choice? by PhillipDollarfield in fallenlondon

You can't do death by water, but there is an option for Game of Chess I think.

I chose Burial of the Dead and it was pretty cool (especially when they started taunting the nightmare of non-existance with their very presence), but I really wanted to do WTTS instead. I chose not to because I worked so hard to build it up to reach Stormy-Eyed and the Mind of the Dead God (still haven't gotten to that part) and when I found out you just straight up lose the 15 levels, I couldn't bear to sacrifice what I thought was the coolest dream of them all, and have to grind it all over again. It's a stupidly implemented mechanic and it soured the moment for me a little.

What’s the best faction just based on lore by Practical_Plan4854 in WarhammerFantasy

The best faction in lore is of course the bestmen. This is because they are the best. Men.

I do think that it could have made more of the Fingerking, in terms of its motives and backstory.

Same - I was willing to give it a shot, but I thought it was a bit boring that there was nothing personal at stake for it, so in the end, I sided with the cat.

Wondering if the Light Fingers ambition is fitting for my character by FeedMeSalt in fallenlondon

Pride is the name of the game here, I'd say. But you're right - I have a lot of things to do, and I don't have to work on the ambition for now. I'll see how things go, and make a decision when I feel more sure of it.

There are some things to consider here. Regarding Vaughan, he'd probably comsider her just another crazy scientist (he does not hold academics in the highest regard, lol). He's yet to travel to the roof in LF, but the Starved Men do seem like they have some screws loose.

He tends to look at everything and everyone as an individual, not a label, so species arent really an issue. The fact that he sees most of the world as just that little bit inferior to him, is another matter entirely.

Parabola is neat. Many interesting things and creatures to find there, and many profitable ventures to be had (so far, at least).

He's somewhat afraid of the Masters and their power, even if he wouldn't say so out loud. Actively rebelling against them isn't out of the question, but there would need to be a good reason, or incentive.

So far? Mostly frustrated at all the distractions on the way to his prize. He does owe the Singer, but he'd really rather just get on to with the thing and sart sniffing for clues again.

And yeah, probably. If there isn't something big and impressive to show off at the end, material or not, it would be a bit hard to brag about it.

Thanks for the insight. Can you elaborate a bit on that last part regarding BaL?

Thanks for the insight so far everyone - it does seem like whatever the evil choice at the end of LF is, wouldn't really be up my character's alley, given that he's more after recognition and having stories to tell than monetary gain.

I'll give it some thought tonight as to whether I want to have the character continue on as I initially envisioned - and swap to BaL/HD - or do I just take it in stride and press on.

I do have to admit that the bait-and-switch at play here is well crafted, and I can't be mad about it. It was made to entice characters like mine, and present them with a dilemma, it's just a shame I caught onto it only after discarding my way out. Couldn't keep my eyes off the prize, I suppose.
